What can this mouse do?
This great upright mouse is designed to reduce hand and arm strain that comes from twisting your arm when using a traditional mouse for hours at a time. It has all the buttons you want but in a new layout to make it easier and more comfortable for you. The mouse gives you the flexibility of wireless, just plug in the USB nano receiver and leave it or store in in the base of the mouse when not in use. Whether you have difficulty using a traditional mouse or just want a comfortable alternative for work this is a great choice for you

What’s different about this mouse?
Different from ordinary mice the Maplin Pro ergonomic mouse is a vertical mouse. It is designed for optimum button placement for right handed users. As you grip the mouse the left and right buttons as well as the scroll wheel are on the side of the mouse where the user rests their index, middle and ring finger. The mouse is powered by two AAA batteries.

What sort of tracking does the mouse use?
The mouse uses a precise laser tracker giving you up to 2400dpi sensitivity. The mouse has three dpi modes that can switched between quickly and easily using the dpi button. It also has a ridged rubber surface for improved grip and comes with a detachable palm rest to support your wrist and reduce skin contact with the desk surface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money Quickly navigating to and clicking on an item is slower than when using a regular mouse and although practice would improve, it could come at the cost of slowing down use of a regular mouse. I have this mouse as a backup, because when RSI kicks in, I'm generally slower with the mouse anyway and this offers immediate releif. It at least allows you to continue making some progress with work. The RSI wears off for me pretty quickly and then I can continue using the regular mouse. As mentioned in another review, the back and forwards buttons on the left of the mouse are pretty annoying, but I find placing my thumb back a little, helps avoid this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excelent for arthritis Got one of these nifty mice for my gran, who's hands and fingers are getting too stiff to use a normal flat mouse. Suffice to say she's been chuffed to bits with the improvement to her computing experiance. Obviously not so great for games, but Highly Recomended for anyone who uses a pc for long periods or has reduced dexterity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mouse ever - grab it fast! I was slightly skeptical about this mouse, as it was much cheaper than others around for same features. However, all my skepticism vanished in a few seconds. I put the mirco-usb part in my computer, batteries in the mouse and away I was!! It's beautiful!! Pointing is accurate. It's mainly for right-handers though. Index finger on left click, middle finger on scroller and ring finger on right click; thumb is used for shifting back or forward on browser pages or other windows. Takes a little getting used to but after a few minutes it just makes so much sense. I'd probably groan if I have to use another traditional mouse on somebody else's computer. It's really very comfortable in the hand and easy to use. Buy this with confidence before stock and the current discount price of £24.99 runs out. :) :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great mouse, accurate and comfortable I have problems with stiffness and restricted movement in my hands. This mouse.was a revelation, it is so comfortable and natural to use. It is extremely accurate, the most precise mouse i have ever used. The controls buttons are perfectly placed and easy to operate. Set up was so easy, plud and play. My wife and son also use it and are inpressed with the natural arm, wrist and hand position when in use. A great item, well reccomended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product and well worth buying I bought this Mouse, as advised by my doctor as I have developed a Ganglion Cyst on my right hand , due to repetitive use of a mouse. After a few hours of using a standard mouse my hand would be aching and the cyst would be hurting. No more !!. The comfortable angle of the controls and the design of the mouse makes prolonged use comfortable and no more aches. My cyst is still there but hopefully this will not progress now I have a better mouse.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could be great - but epic fail... This could be a really great product but has been let down by a major design flaw - you cannot turn off the Back/Forward buttons on the LHS of the mouse. Consequently you only have to touch the side of it or inadvertently move your thumb whilst in use and you jump back between screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable mouse I've used I have bought and tried a lot of mice (well over a dozen) and would rate this as the best for comfort. It is my daily mouse and has helped with my RSI like no other mouse. I try others but keep coming back to this as I can use it all day long without discomfort. It is also very precise to move and the buttons have a nice, light click. I am now used to the high DPI setting and find it very frustrating to the use a 'slower' mouse. The downsides of this mouse are that the build quality is not great and batteries don’t last that long. But it is so good that I will buy another one when my current one needs replacing. Note also that the freeware X-Mouse Button Control will let you later or disable the two thumb buttons if you need to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent vertical mouse. I've had several vertical mice over the years and this is the best by far. Now on my second one of these. First lasted 2 years this one still going strong after 18 months. I use them daily for CAD work so they get very heavy use. DPI button quickly and easily changes response/speed of the pointer. Batteries last months - I use Hybrid NiMH rechargeables. I would wait if you can for the half price offer which comes around like clock work. Back button can be annoying but is not a deal breaker.

My bluetooth dongle recently got stuck inside a client's USB computer port and broke as we tried to get it out. Is it possible to get a replacement dongle??

On this occasion, Maplin does not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

I've had this mouse for ages and I love it but I'm using with a Mac mini how can I remap the buttons? I assumed as it's plug and play it would just pop up but never has.

Asked by: Blindthingz
This would be done using the keymap settings in Mac for assistance with this I would advise talking to Apple.
