About this product

Product overview

• Converts an analogue SCART video/audio signal to a digital HDMI video/audio output
• Can also be used as an audio extractor to split the audio and video signal coming from your HDMI output to connect to an external sound system
• Ideal for SCART DVD/VHS players, older set top boxes, and older games consoles
• Supports 1080p or 720p output
• 1 year warranty

Old is Gold
With the way technology is changing, you can sometimes find that your older devices may not be compatible with newer TV’s when you upgrade. If the SCART based product you are using doesn’t have a direct replacement but you want to use it with your new HDMI television, then this is the right product for you.

The adapter itself is compatible with SCART PAL and NTSC output formats, and will upscale up to 720p or 1080p HD for improved viewing quality. The audio extraction feature also allows you to split the video and audio from the HDMI signal, giving you the option of outputting the audio using a 3.5mm auxiliary jack or a digital coaxial audio connector to your sound system. The device also features hardware controls so you can easily switch the input/resolution/colour encoding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely fine. No probs. I bought this to interface an old(ish) virgin media TV box (with SCART only) to a brand new 4k hdr Sony Bravia TV (with HDMI only). Worked first time. Picture is fine. No quality problems. Only slight hassle is it took me a while to realise that you had to push the screen resolution button thingy on the front several times to get the picture format output right.

Can I use this to plug in my xbox one into my tv that only has scart and not hdmi

Asked by: Jake
Hello, Unfortunately this only works one way. To turn a SCART connection from an older device into a HDMI connection for a modern TV. It is not possible to do the other way around.

I have an old sky box with scart connection and new tv supporting only hdmi. Will this device work on its own. In the back of the sky box there is an rs connection (5 pins at top and 5 pins at bottom), is this needed to get sky box to work on new tv?

Asked by: Shaz
Yes this device would work fine, however picture quality will be degraded due to a standard definition signal being viewed on a high definition TV.
