Why use SCART?
SCART is a standard method for transferring composite and RGB video signals with stereo input and output signals for audio down a single cable. These cables are commonly used to connect DVD players, satellite/cable or Freeview boxes to televisions that lack HDMI capabilities.

Why use triple phono cables?
Triple phono (or RCA) is another method of connecting devices to a televisions that lack HDMI ports, which is also suitable if all available SCART sockets are being used. The video and audio signals are split into individual phono cables, typically the phono connectors are colour coded to give a visual representation of the signals they carry. Yellow connectors are for video signal, red are for a right channel audio signal and white are for a left channel audio signal.

Why choose Maplin cables?
The Maplin range of cables features premium construction and specifications, with market-leading cable technology. The Maplin cable range features hard-wearing cable construction with colour-coded, compact connectors available for almost any use. Asked by: SMR_
A solution (if there is one at all) would be easier if we knew how you are using the cable. Is the scart at the TV end with the phono in the VCR, or the other way round. Where exactly have you connected the phonos into. If you could send us clear images of how the cable is being used (both ends of the cable) we can try to provide a solution email your question and images to technical@maplin.co.uk it is imperative that the photos are detailed and clear so that we can see the names and/or symbols of the connectors you are using to determine if they are correct.
