I'm trying to connect a dvd player and video to a TV and have followed the instructions as per previously asked question and I can only get signal from one device. Any suggestions?

Asked by: Helen
It's important to make sure that only one device is active at any one time, so if playing DVD make sure the VCR is in standby or vice versa. If the cable fails to work in the configuration mentioned in the previous question you may have one or more devices that are incompatible. It may be better to use a switched SCART box such as https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/nikkai-connect-scart-to-3-scart-box-with-switch-l10bb this allows you to manually switch between the inputs and eliminate crosstalk or signal bleed from one device to the next.

Just purchased and fitted this scart to twin scart cable and only one item works. I have to change over the ends to get the DVD player to work on the TV. Is there a certain way to connect this item, or is it faulty? I thought it had an automatic switch?

Asked by: Chris
The "OUT" cable goes in device 1 (DVD player) because the signal is coming OUT of that device. The "OUT/IN" cable goes into device 2 (VCR maybe) as the signal is passing through that device. The "IN" cable goes to the TV because the signal from device 1 and 2 is going IN to the TV.

Is the total scart cable length 1.5m (i.e .0.75 for each of the two twin split cables) or are they both 1.5m from the tv to each box?

Asked by: Green Man
The 1.5m measurement is the total cable length from end to end.

I want to connect a virgin satellite box to two tv's. Will this cable do that? Are all three ends male? So to connect to another scary I will need a coupler?

Asked by: Mart1234
This item will split one signal into two so other items are needed.

Where do I find the "input/output switch on the Single SCART terminal"?  I cannot find the switch on any of the three SCART plugs.

Asked by: Chris
There is no switch, this is automatic.
