I have a non HDMI VCR that records DTV on a non hd tv. How do I connect the vcr to record tv on an hd TV?

Asked by: Sparks67
Sorry but there simply isn't enough information here to try and advise. Can you perhaps forward pictures of the input/output connections for both the VCR and the television, so we can see if there is any way of connecting the two. email pictures to technical@maplin.co.uk Typically a VCR records the incoming terrestrial aerial signal, the type of TV it is connected to has no bearing on it's ability to record. If the VCR has a digital tuner then it should still be able to record TV programmes, however if it has the older analogue tuner there are no longer any analogue channels being broadcast.

Does the cable allow recording from smart tv onto the video? Or does it just enable viewing?

Asked by: Sparks67
If your recording device accepts these component cables this would work fine.
