The Maplin USB DC Voltage Data Logger is designed to record tested voltage values taken at specific timings. This device can store up to 32,000 voltage readings with a measurement range between 0V and 30V. Users can adjust the sampling rate to suit their requirements and even setup high and low alarm values through the supplied Data Logger PC software. The recorded data can then be downloaded to your computer and viewed in a graphical form or exported to an excel format.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well, but flawed The software for this loads easily, and is easy to use. The device records fine but care is needed for successful use. Plugged in to a PC usb if set to 'auto', the device becomes active with a flashing led, and starts recording the moment it is connected to a battery. But if you don't want to use it straight away, then you have to set it via a PC to 'manual', otherwise the device internal battery would become exhausted. However, in manual mode you have to be very careful not to press the start button before you are ready - if you do, then pressing the button again to stop it means you have to go back to the PC and start over (as you can't press the button to re-start it just doesn't work)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tool for fault finding car charging system I've got two of these. One to monitor the cars battery & charging system to a degree that's not possible with anything else. It demonstrated to the dealer that there was a major problem with the car electrical system - car has now be taken back by the dealer and replaced with a shiny new one. The second unit is used to monitor the solar charging regime on my caravan. The software is a bit crude but easy to import data into a spreadsheet for analysis

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor instructions It works but only after a lot of experimenting to work out how it works, it can only be started to log if it is first setup on a PC. To operate install battery and load software open Voltage Logger go to settings select Manual to start the log by pressing button or Instant it starts as soon as setup selected you can also chose the number of sample points and rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If it works it is a good logger The first one arrived after 3 days but did not turn on - shorted the lithium battery whch got hot and was difficult to remove safely. I have a nearby Maplin shop so return was simple so but they could not replace so nearly 10 days after ordering a working logger arrived. The software is good and the 32v range is just right for car battery drop on cold starting etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little devices Really usefull for monitoring auto & marine battery usage and performance. We use them on our hire boats to see how well the battery banks are performing and how much the engines are being run. The graphical viewing tool was a lot better and more useful than expected. Great value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So good we bought 4 of them We use them for logging the voltage of of various battery packs under discharge at various temperatures and loads. They work great. Easy to program. User interface good. We import the data into Excel as coma delimited and manipulate easy enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device at low cost simple device easy to use, very flexible because you can connect whichever sensor and record the graph. It would be great to have the possibility to record two signals at once in order to have the possibiity to see the two graphs sincronized

Reed Instruments do not list a driver "ST 171-V'. Do you mean ST 171?

Asked by: Adrian
Yes, well this driver and software interprets the data stored on a voltage data logger as temperature and humidity.

My voltage datalogger arrived today. Running Windows 7 professional I installed the software and driver. The software opened OK but the datalogger was not recognised. Reinstalled the software as suggested in this questions section. No go. Where now?

Is the smallest sample rate 2s or will it sample quicker than that? I'm looking to sample at around 0.1s to 1s.

Asked by: weewere
The ones I have will do 2.5mS (400Hz) but the next longer period is 2S. This may be because I updated the firmware as per another Q here.

HI. Do you have the correct instructions to this as the instructions in the download area and the links you have put in the comments are not the correct ones, they are for the temp/hummidity logger not the voltage logger. thanks

Asked by: steve
Those are the instructions provided with the item. the operation of the device is the same.

I want to be able to monitor my mains voltage for fault finding, is there an adapter/device which is accurate that I could use in conjunction with this data logger?

Asked by: Phil
Unfortunately this is only for small DC voltages so would not be suitable for your needs.
