Reversing made easy

The wireless parking sensor offers an ideal solution for drivers who care for their vehicle and the safety of their passengers. Hidden obstacles such as posts can cause serious damage to cars and at times reversing can be a difficult task. The parking sensor notifies the driver of the distance and the position of obstacles by means of an acoustic beep and using visual display, to make manoeuvres while reversing safer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pick up truck I got this to replace a 2 sensor set that was on my Mazda b2500. However to put a spin on this I placed two sensors in my front bumper and wired it up to be active at all time the vehicle is moving, so as anyone knows with a long bonnet and tall height moving up to cars in front is also a problem. As the product is it works very well is accurate (having measured it) and is quite nice to view so I would recommend it to anyone that has any issues as I have. Now to do this you will have cut into the wires to extend the sensors as they are made for cars and do not really have enough length to be front and back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The kit is comprehensive in that all items needed to complete a neat and tidy installation are provided. The difficulty came when I attempted to fit this kit to a Renault Scenic. A certain amount of investigation had to be undertaken to ensure that the correct connections were made at the reversing light end and connection at the monitor end was eventually taken from the cigarette lighter as the only easily accessible connection. Location of the monitor was eventually made in front of the main display below the clock readout as otherwise the steering wheel was in the way. Operation is excellent in that the wireless connection is faultless. The only criticism is the test function the display goes through is very obtrusive in that each test (E1, E2, E3) produces a beep each time it is activated by power on. Surely one beep at the end would be adequate to indicate functionality; after all the display cycles through the tests visibly anyway. This kit does what it says on the tin. Eliminates the onerous task of connecting the display to the sensors by hard wire and is efficient in warning of any close encounter behind the vehicle.

How does this kit fit if you have a tow bar on the car, is there anyway to adjust the sensors for this.

Asked by: paul M
Sorry the unit is unsuitable for use with vehicles with tow bars.

When driving the unit sometimes displays E1, E2 or E3. This often happens at the same location, e.g near traffic lights, but also randomly.

Asked by: Peter
Unless the vehicle is in reverse the sensors should be inactive. Any pickup is likely to be r.f. into the display unit. Maybe the traffic light radars, other car radars, traffic speed sensors such as those operated by Trafficmaster, wifi even.

I fitted this a couple of weeks ago. It does the job, but the display occasionally bleeps and flashes warnings during normal driving and/or goes through a sequence of showing E1, E2, E3, E4. Is this expected behaviour or, if not, how can I stop it?
