How fast is the wireless connection on this router
The Maplin WN529A3-B AC1200 wireless network router uses dual 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands to run a combined speed of 1167Mbps across your wireless network. Four external omnidirectional antenna help to push the radius of your signal further, helping to alleviate wireless weak areas and dead zones.

Devices that are capable can utilise up to 867Mbps across the 5Ghz band, which is ideal for streaming or network intensive tasks. While a 300Mbps 2.4Ghz band is able to handle your everyday network tasks, such as checking your e-mail or web browsing.

These two bands run simultaneously to optimise your wireless connections, allowing your devices to operate at peak efficiency.

How can I connect to this router?
In addition to the Wi-Fi connections featured on this router, a single RJ-45 WAN port lets you connect directly to a stand-alone modem or extend your network from an existing network setup. Four 10/100 LAN ports allow you to create a network of devices that can access the internet* or communicate with each other. Also this router features wireless protected setup (WPS) to allow quick pairing of your Wi-Fi devices.

I have a BT Infinity router which I want to connect to a remote location which the WiFi doesn't quite reach. I am going to run an Ethernet cable and want a device to connect at the other end to provide WiFi and additional Ethernet ports. Will this router

Asked by: Escargo
Yes this will do exactly what you require. I'd advise you do a little research with regards to automatic DHCP address allocation to make sure that both devices are not allocating IP address in the same number ranges. (This sounds very techy but it's relatively simple to do)
