This 1:14 McLaren P1 replica remote control car is as powerful as it is beautiful. It is based on the supercar design of the official McLaren and features twin channel transmission so you can race two at the same time. The full directional controls ensure you can be precise with your movement and the bonus of the front and rear headlight toggle switches allow you to dictate how the car lights up the dark. The car can operate on a transmission range up to a maximum of thirty metres and full batteries will get you a runtime of up to 17 minutes in total to race through the vast landscape both indoors and outdoors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Description is wrong, disappointed kids WARNING - this car does NOT have "twin channel transmission allowing you to race two cars simultaneously" as stated in the first bullet point and also the general description. Rather, some units are fixed at 27MHz and others at 40MHz. This is denoted by a small sticker on the back of the box which even the staff in the shop were unaware of. If you order online it is pot-luck which frequency you get. We ended up with two cars at 27MHz. We didn't discover that there wasn't in fact a channel-select switch until the children opened them on Christmas day, at which point it immediately became clear that they couldn't play with their new presents as both cars were responding to both controllers. Maplin "technical support" were useless and apparently not technical after all. The staff in our local shop were not much better - although after much negotiation and making me feel like an idiot, they did concede to allow me to swap one of the 27MHz vehicles for a 40MHz one which I had found myself at the back of a shelf. Having said all the above - once we'd done the swap, the children have been extremely happy with them. The cars drive well, the light up headlights and opening doors are very exciting, and an added bonus is that the wing mirrors are slightly springy so they don't snap off as soon as the vehicle crashes into a wall.

Does the listing involve some mistakes as I could not find any optional frequency to change ? Thanks

Asked by: Salwan
The frequency would be changeable via a switch on both the remote and underneath the car itself. However, I will request that someone check the listing and the product itself to make sure this is correct.
