What is a dehumidifier?
A dehumidifier is used to remove moisture from the air and to manage the humidity within a room. They draw humid air through the unit, where the moisture is drawn out into the tank. Dehumidifiers are commonly used in domestic and office environments to help remove damp and condensation. They are also ideal in rooms that have been water damaged from flooding, burst pipes or an overflowing bathroom.

How is this dehumidifier unique?
This dehumidifier removes up to 20 litres of humidity from the air every day, either into its large 6 litre tank or through a continuous draining hose (not included). The electronic controls are pre-programmed to save you electricity and money. The humidistat controls when the dehumidifier runs and the display lets you know how dry the room is. It is effective down to 10°C. The built-in timer allows you to set a run time with an automatically switch off once it has elapsed. The dehumidifier is as quiet as a refrigerator, outputting 46dBA of noise when in use, and is powered using a mains plug. The dehumidifier has two fan speeds for additional control and can operate in a range of temperatures up to 35°C and is effective down to 10°C.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant I've been using this for a few weeks now and it's fantastic - it's cleared all the windows in our house of condensation, which is exactly what we needed it to do. Very straight forward to use. I run it slightly lower than the recommended 55% humidity and it is on most of the time and I've yet to see the impact on my electricity bill, but it collects a lot of water, so seems to be solving my condensation damp problem, so that's well worth it. Highly recommend this dehumidifier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great bucket I have had this dehumidifier for a few weeks now. It works well. It is easy to wheel around. I particularly like the big bucket, which saves regular emptying. It is also easy to take out and carry. My only objection is that the machine switches on and off, with a buzz, about every hour for a few seconds.

Meaco site says "One FREE HEPA filter included in the box". Additional ones can be bought later, probably from somewhere cheaper.

Hi there, if you have it in one room does it absorb moisture from the whole house? I live in a 2 bed flat and want to keep it in the spare room where I dry washing but want to check if it being in there will suck the moisture in from other rooms too. Than

Asked by: JamesH1984
If the unit is placed in a particular room with the doors open then yes it will suck moisture from the air where possible. But will be most effective in the room it is placed in .

Is there a facility to bypass the tank and drain directly to a sink. I am thinking of using on a boat

Asked by: PeteJ
You want the DD8L or DD8L Junior for that. I have one on my boat and as it is the dessicant type it works better at lower temperatures anyway.
