Can I use the existing Virgin media cables as ordinary aerial cables and therefore pick up freeview via my external aerial and a booster box without Virgin media and therefore cancel my virgin contract?

Asked by: Steve
To receive FreeView you will typically need an externally mounted rooftop aerial connected to a Freeview or Freeview HD capable device. Virgin cables do not connect to an aerial.

Can I use this to connect 'satellite' cable to a coaxial cable. The aerial on our new house has a satellite cable coming down from the roof aerial, but the freeview box I have bought had a coaxial input on it. The aerial on the roof is a standard TV one.

Asked by: Jonny
Yes this will work fine in your intended application.

ref code QQ71N. Is this adapter suitable for fixing to the hardware on a portable satellite system so that co-ax connectors could be used on the cables to allow quick set-up of the system?

Will this convert my cable input so I can put it straight into my tv?
Asked by: stuart hounslow
This will change the connection, but in order to get Cable channels, you would need to have a set top box to decode the signal. You will not get all Cable channels on a normal TV using this.
