• Resistor for reducing voltage levels and current flow
• Same physical size as 1/4W resistor with capability of 0.6W
• Ideal replacement for carbon film 1/4W, 1/3W or 1/2W types
• Superior replacement to most metal oxide and thick film resistorsWhat is a resistor used for?
A resistor is used in electrical circuits where the current flow needs to be reduced and in turn lower voltage levels within the circuit.
Can I add resistors together to equal a value not available?
You may need a resistor that is not available to buy. In this case you can add resistors in series to equal the resistance you require. For example, if you require a 6Ω resistor you can add a 2.7Ω and 3.3Ω resistor together in series to equal 6Ω in total.
Formula for resistors in series: RT = R1 + R2 + R3
Formula for resistors in parallel: RT = (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2)
