Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed I bought this thinking it was a great idea. I assembled it without fitting it in the window frame to check it worked. When I then fitted it and gently closed the window, nothing. I opened the window and removed it, it hadn't stuck and tried the aerial direct to the tv and again nothing. I believe this fitting had not only failed but it had "blown" the amplified aerial, which had to be replaced. I had to drill through the frame to fit the cable normally. When I tried to return it it was refused as I'd forgotten to bring the 2 f plugs and the blame for the failure seemed to be mine because the fitting had been bent. I pointed out that that's what it was intended to do, but to no avail. In my experience £10 wasted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well, but not a perfect install....a little pricey in my opinion. For something that goes in-line your coaxial feed, i expected some degradation of signal. My TV's in-built signal-strength display says none, and the picture is unaffected also. The process of actually cutting/stripping the coax, screwing on the provided F-connectors, and installing the device was a piece of cake. Where this product falls down is its self-adhesive strip, and it's plastic sleeve's robustness. The stickyness is pretty rubbish to be fair...on testing the opening/closing of my UPVC window, the motion and rubbing not only pushed the sleeve off the frame, but slightly tore the sleeve. The tear was easily repaired with a little electrical tape, and after some repositioning and the addition of a couple of carefully places drawing pins, i managed to find a safer/less vunerable place for the sleeve - on the hingeing side of the window-frame. All in all...this product works, but i have to knock off two stars from what could have been a potential five simply because of the described problems. Also...i think a tenner for this product is a bit steep.

is there any loss of signal? is it better to have a direct cable connection ie drilling through the wall.
Asked by: mark
Any connection on a cable can result in potential signal loss so the less splits/joins the better. Having said that the quality/strength drop on a cable such as this should be negligable.

How do you fit this. Do you have to drill through the window frame? Thanks
Asked by: Graeme
This is designed to fit between an opening window and the frame (its flat and very thin)
