The motor with its integrated 100:1 planetary gearbox can get up to 4704gf.cm (gram-force cm) ,the equivalent of 0.461Nm, at maximum efficiency (12V) with a rotary speed of 141 rotations per minute. The motor runs off a DC power supply between 1.5 and 145 volts and reversing the polarity of the input with charge the direction the motor spins in. 77.1mm long (94.1 mm including shaft) with a diameter of 32mm and weighing 214g, this is a great motor for modelling or industrial applications.
Why use planetary motor gearbox?
Planetary gearboxes can be half the size of a conventional gearbox and more efficient, allowing smaller motors to be used for the same output. Planetary or epicyclic gearing involves one or more planet gears rotating around a sun gear and an outer ring. The planet gears are often mounted on a carrier that rotates relative to the sun gear.
The motor gearbox can be used in heavy duty industrial, hobby or model applications. It has a five pole motor with sintered bronze bearings, and sleeved bearings on the metal gearbox, allowing high torque transfers from the motor through the gearbox.
