• Great for heavy duty industrial, hobby, modelling, R&D, and education use
 • Operating voltage between 4.5V and 15V

Product overview

• Large brushed motor with integral gearbox
• Great for heavy duty industrial, hobby, modelling, R&D, and education use
• Operating voltage between 4.5V and 15V
• Gearbox ratio of 3000:1
• Rotations per minute of up to 6
• Creates torque up to 6000 gf.cm
• Compact size to even fit some medium sized projects

What size is this motor gearbox?

At 84mm (109mm including shaft) x 47mm x 39mm this motor has an integrated gearbox and a central 5.98mm output shaft. The 3000:1 motor gearbox can produce a high torque of 6000gf.cm (gram-force cm) at 12V with a rotation speed of 6rpm.the direction of ration can be changed by reversing the input polarity. The motor has an attached 1mm thick plated steel mounting bracket to mount it easily to your project.

What can I use this motor gearbox for?

This is a powerful motor with an integral gearbox suitable for heavy-duty industrial or model applications. The motor is capable of high torque transfer through the gears. The built-in gearbox can increase your turning power (torque) at a reduced rotations per minute from the motor. The optimum ratio for this will depend on your project. Solidly constructed from steel and brass with sintered bronze bearings, a high quality three pole motor and a 5.98mm diameter central output shaft. This motor gearbox is ideal for DC 4.5-15V powered mechanisms with a wide range of application from industrial uses to modelling or hobbies or to demonstrate mechanical principles for educational kits.

I'm not all that familiar with torgue, how heavy object (in kg) can this motor move, and what are the most powerful motors in this size that you have

Asked by: Just
This will depend on gearing but this is not something we can help with, you would need to look this up online.

Hi there, Could you tell me how the gear ratio is adjusted please?

Asked by: Anonymous
The ratio is fixed, you can alter the speed of rotation by applying different voltages. a table of applicable rotational speeds can be found on the datasheet on the product listing. link here https://maplindownloads.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/N01BQ-7731.pdf

I want to use a DC motor at high torque and between 15 and 5 rpm to stir a liquid (thin porridge consistency) and run it from the mains. Would this motor run at an RPM within my range and do maplin sell a suitable ac/dc transformer to run from mains?
