Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well Just thought I should check 25 year old microwave cooker. Turned it on, tester showed it off scale bad. NB ... Test with something inside cooking .... then low green. :) Good device .... if used correctly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This tester saved me some money and time. I was going to throw out my microwave and then purchased this radiation tester which showed that my microwave was safe. So, thanks to this little gauge, I have saved myself some money and the bother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does its job without question - I recommend without hesitation Does it work ? At first I doubt it because I tested it near our two (new) microwaves and the needle did not move but it did not occur to me that those two electrical appliance I was testing were in perfect condition, no radiation leak. Then I used it next to our four television sets two LCDs, one Plasma and one old still cathode tube TV and the needle moved to the right, halfway into the green area when I tested the old TV set so this tester must work and so there was something was not quite right with the old TV and we got rid of it. Now, I am not sure if this tester is meant only to be used with microwaves or it is meant to be used with other appliances but the fact is that it worked with our old TV, it reacted near that old TV so I am very happy with the tester. I paid 5 Pounds one year ago at Enfield's Mapins so at the reduced price of Pounds 3.99 it is well worth it. It is horrifying to have an appliance leaking radiation and not know about it. I recommend it without hesitation. It's free to use, requires no batteries and it is just there to detect harmful radiation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy operation Sky Q network was being knocked out when microwave was working which worried us. The microwave tester showed that some energy was coming off the microwave but was still in the green. No batteries or switches to bother with, just hold the gizmo near the item under test and Bob's your Uncle.

Hi I have one but have lost the instructions.  What distance from the microwave oven do you hold it?

Asked by: deebee
A distance of a couple of feet should give a reading if there is an issue.
