• Produce some interesting sounds without touching a thing
• Generate a tone, and change the pitch by moving your hand closer to the board
• Fun to make with 44 parts
• Required three AA batteries (not included Order Code L43AL)What can I do with this kit?
Become part an interactive part of the circuit. Build your own sound generator, then use your hands to alter the pitch of the tone and create fun and funky noises. As you move your hand closer and further away from the board, the pitch will change. For a more pronounced difference, try touching the metal studs on the battery box or the metal of the speaker. Have fun and see what sounds you can make, and even build your own songs. This 44 part kit is great for anyone interested in electronics or looking to improve their soldering.
What can I learn from this kit?
Use resistors, capacitors, microchips and potentiometers to build the circuit and learn how they go together. Use the two potentiometers to set the pitch and volume, then use your hands to further change the pitch. You can increase the surface area by attaching kitchen foil to the pad in the corner of the copper plane. The bigger the surface area, the more pronounced the pitch changes will be. This kit comes with all the components required, including a speaker. You will require a soldering iron and solder, and may require wire cutters.
How easy is this kit to solder?
Improve your soldering with this kit, which contains both standard components and temperature-sensitive ones. It is a great kit for those learning about electronics and those looking to progress. Once you’ve built your kit, you could go on to build an enclosure or your own musical instrument. You could even use several kits to build a band – just make sure not to cover the active areas. This kit is run off three AA batteries (not included – Order Code L43AL).
