About this product

Overview

Product overview

• Build your own analogue clock designed to look like a classic bike
• Watch as time drives this moving clock
• Fun to make with 93 parts
• Requires a single AA battery (not included Order Code L43AL)

What can I make with this kit?
Create a stylish classic bike office toy with a built-in clock. Place the clock on one side of your desk and watch as it slowly moves tiny movements over time and the bike stealthily makes its way across the table. The bike has a built-in analogue clock which can be set using the knob on the back. If you want the bike to remain stationary the kit includes a stand to lift the rear wheel off the ground.

What can I learn with this kit?
This is a great way to experiment with gears and explore what they can do. As the hour cog turns it uses cogs of differing sizes to transfer the motion to the rear wheel. Clocks are often used as parts of larger mechanical designs, such as the millennium clock in Edinburgh, or as parts of larger astronomical clocks.

How easy is this kit to make?
This kit comes in 93 parts and doesn’t require any glue or solder as it simply screws together. With laser cut metallic acrylic structure and high quality stainless steel fixings, this is a professional-looking office toy. This kit requires a single AA battery (not included Order Code L43AL).
