What can I do with this kit?
Create interesting effects using the UV flash and glow in the dark sample. Use your hands or stencils to create shapes on the glow in the dark material which will make silhouettes after the UV flash has lightened the areas around them. See what images you can make – with 20 parts the flash is fun to solder for those looking to progress past beginner kits.

What can I learn from this kit?
Fluorescent materials absorb light and glow for a time afterwards. This is ideal for things like emergency exits, direction strips on aircraft and high visibility clothing which require no power. This kit comes with a 50mm x 50mm fluorescent sample. You can use natural light, but a UV flash gives a more dramatic change. Practice soldering and see how the components combine in a circuit to create a flash light. The kit contains capacitors, resistors, LEDs, a switch and a 1N4006 microchip. This kit requires a soldering iron and solder, and may need wire cutters.

How easy is this kit to solder?
This is a great kit for those learning electronics that want to move on from beginner kits. The kit comes with two 5mm UV LEDs and has space for you to add two more to make an even brighter flash. You could add an enclosure around the compact 55mm x 31mm board as long as the LED and switch are accessible. This kit uses a 9V (PP3) battery (not included Order Code L46AL) and comes with a battery holder attached to the back of the PCB board.

Could you tell me what the specs for the LED are?

I am sorry but as this is a specific part for a specific item, therefore we are not supplied with any in-depth specifications as the item is not intended to be used in any other purpose.
