Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generous appetite, easy maintenance, quiet, reliable, glides around happily doing an excellent job of my slate and wood floors. I live it so much I have to restrain myself from stroking it occasionally! Seriously good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for money Bought this today for just under 60.00. Works great for the money. Wanted one to use while I was at work. Works great on the laminate and kitchen floor. Not tried it on carpet or rug yet. Looked in dirt collection box and picks up a lot of larger bits ( stone grit) and hair. Great ss it comes with extra brushes, dusting cloths and spare filter. Pretty random movement plus pre programmed movements. Defo a great bargain for the price I paid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's obviously not a ?ъ300 vac. So for the money it's excellent. I still have to do a manual vac once every two weeks but it does ok. I also use it on my carpets as the ad says not for carpets but it does ok on all my carpets even my deep pile. You should demo this in the stores as it would sell like hot cakes for the price. I've got a few more people who want one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but basic If your looking for a cheap and basic Robotic Cleaner, then this ones for you. It does clean, but it doesnt collect small bits of fluff ie from toys. I have a build up of fluff from my cats toys and it struggles to collect it. I also had some excess tinsel on the floor after putting up my Xmas tree and again, it struggled to collect it. I think I will give this to a friend as an Xmas present: even though it does work, its not the best for MY particular needs (which is mainly to clean up after my cat LOL). Id also love to have the option to manually tell it where to go because I dont always need the whole floor to be done but just a small area, like around his litter box, but it doesnt come with a remote :( Please note - it works on short piled carpet but will get stuck on long piled carpets/rugs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased the 'B' grade item for a bit cheaper (?ъ49.99), and I was under no illusions as to what to expect. Sure enough this is no Dyson killer, but on the specified hard floors (wood / laminate, tile etc) it does a pretty decent job, and certainly picks up more fluff, cat hair and general muck that treads in from outside, than I had expected. There are no rotating brush bars underneath to 'grab' bigger bits, so heavier bits may not be sucked up (though usually stray bits of cat litter are no issue) The vacuum motor is not very powerfull, but moves a good volume of air, which works well at pulling in crumbs, fluff, grit, etc. As a result it is very quiet - sounds more like a fast desk fan. Now then, there is the issue of how well it cleans a room. While the vacuum and spinning side brushes work surprisingly well, the limited "intelligence" in the way the robot crosses a room is a bit lacking. The robot will only make right turns when impacting an obstacle, and as it only has two limits of how far it can turn, it has a habit of repeating the same pattern over and over, until the Entropy of the universe kicks in, and it manages to make an angle just good enough to escape. There are also some programed random movements that happen after a certain amount of time, and this will often be enough to help it on it's way. The mopping feature is more of a 'dusting' really, the dry pads are essentially the same as a "Swiffer" brand mop. A wet floor (swiffer type) cloth works well until it begins to dry out, and causes the robot to hop and bounce - though this does help add randomness to it's pattern, so not a bad thing... However the pad does pick up a good amount of dirt. That all said, it still does a passable job! Just make sure to start it in different areas of the room each time you use it, to make sure it gets full coverage. I will admit I purchased mine with the intent of using it as a cheap robotics platform, and here it excels! For the money you get a decent quality case, two reasonably powerfull gear motors with wheels, two more geared motors (side brushes), three downward facing IR "cliff" sensors and a single beam-break IR sensor mounted to the bumper bar (one of the reasons it only turns right...). You also get a decent 14.4V battery pack and another motor can be found in the vacuum fan. Oh and a bunch of red and blue LEDs in the top ring too. This makes it ideal as a robotics starting point with something like the Arduino or even a Raspberry Pi. Of note, is that the mainboard inside the robot, has NO microcontroller as you might expect, it seems to be based on a rather simple but effective circuit of hardwired logic. This makes the results of it's cleaning even more impressive! So it's a perfect donor for a 'brain transplant'. Overall, at the cheaper price of ?ъ69.99 it is worth it's money as a robot vac, and a bargain for a robotics starter platform. At the more expensive price of ?ъ99.99, there are much better cleaners for the same money, and same goes for the robotics platform too. It's a cheap little robo-vac, and it does well enough. If you have fluffy animals, young kids and hard floors, then you could do a lot worse. Just have reasonable expectations, you don't get a Roomba for this kind of money! ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so brilliant I had to buy another I bought one of these for my laminate floors and was so impressed that I bought another for the carpeted areas of the house. They are easy to set up and pick up an amazing amount of dust

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! Bargain at £49:99! I had this as a Christmas present, after seeing it on the ITV This Morning show, I totally wanted to get one! I love it, amazing how much it actually does pick up! I haven't tried the dusters yet but it's fab as a alternative to getting the dyson out daily! I does have a tendency for repeating over the same area so now & then I have picked it up to move it to a different area. The cats are used to it now after a few confusing looks in the beginning lol. Thanks Maplin! Great for only £49:99!

Hello. What kind of battery is used in this vacuum (model A84NF)? Is it lithium? I'm planning to take it on the plane, so I need to know the type of battery so that I can check with the airlines. Thanks Regards,  Irina

Recently bought this robotic cleaner. Put the battery on charge for four hours, as stated in the manual. After the four hours the blue leds were still flashing. We had not had a power cut nor had it been switched of for any other reason. Please advise.

Asked by: jj67
I would advise to give it longer I have know it take 6 or 7 hours before.

Can you get a replacement battery pack? Or do you have to throw it away when the battery eventually dies (like I have with previous robot vacuums)
