Provides easy integration of Ethernet (10 Mbps) and Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) devices. This switch features eight ports. All the ports provide automatic speed and duplex sensing. Auto Uplink adjusts for straight-through or crossover cables and makes the right connection. Once you connect the hardware, your switch is operating. Auto Negotiation takes care of the speed and duplex, while Auto Uplink eliminates the need for toggle switches or special crossover cables. Engineered without the need for internal fans, it operates silently.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I needed a device of this type as I had used all available Ethernet slots in my PC. I am not very familiar with the technologies involved and wasn't sure whether the device would be difficult to set up or not. As usual with Maplins products, the device arrived promptly and was securely packaged. Initial impressions were that it was a high quality product, based in a neat, robust metal case and that it appeared to be simple to set up. All I had to do was to basically pug in the device and ethernet connections as described in the simple instruction sheet and it then worked perfectly and has continued to do since. If I have further need for such a device, I won't hesitate to purchase another.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough and reliable little switch, we use them as temporary hubs when we run out of ports in an area. No work needed, they autosense everything and work just fine. Much better value than the plastic cased versions, these actually last well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it says. Plug it in and its ready to go. Automatically senses where it sits in the network. We've go two daisy chained together from a Netgear broadband router to link about 15 devices in a LAN. No configuration required just plugged them in!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilli8ant! Works like a dream. All my gear is on line and with extra connections spare as well. The price of the eight over the four connect is a no brainer too. Should have bought this years ago. Highly recommended.
