You are also supplied with an integrated network switch, providing four 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports for high speed connections to devices that lack wireless capabilities. This is perfect for media devices such as smart televisions, media players and game consoles. One of these ports also doubles as a WAN port.
A single USB port allow you to attach USB printers or external hard drives to your router, enabling access to the devices either through your local network or remotely via the routers’ built-in VPN or ReadySHARE USB software. View a map of your network to see what devices are connected, and remotely block any unwanted connections. You can also use your portable device as a remote control for your DLNA media devices, and access any media stored on external devices through the routers’ USB 2.0 ports.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should work ,,,,,,,,,, Very disappointing .... took two attempts to get initialised, then when Netgear Genie (wizard) finally 'kicked in', the firmware update crashed the router completely to the flashing 'green power light of death' !! All attempts to revive the machine failed after four hours trying. It goes back to store, and I defer back to my 'old' reliable (if slow) router of 12 years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Working : Hope it keeps going I bought this to replace my still working netgear router that had clocked up 14 years service. As I live in the Hull area our only provider is KC which requires the router to be set up manually, something which living round here you get fairly good at. After the initial set up it sprung to life and worked fine, All the extra toys were configured and worked well. ... until it requested a firmware update. This is a standalone procedure so I let it get on with it. After restarting, it then requested a further firmware update to an even newer release. After restarting a second time it worked but only about 25% of sites could be accessed. All the other page requests hung and timed out. Diagnostics showed nothing wrong and ping worked ok. I contacted my ISP who offered to do a port refresh, Just as a check I slipped the old router back in and there were no issues. I did a hard reset, left the unit off for a few minutes then entered all the data again. The system worked, Compared with my old router wired internet went up from 13mbps to just over 15 mbps and wireless went from 9 mbps to 15 mbps matching the hard line speed. The device worked fine for 4 days until the other day when the wireless and ethernet were both down. The Genie app got nowhere with it so it was back to manual config where I found every single setting had been reset to factory default values. How this happened I don't know. Following a complete re-setup it worked fine again. If it does it again, it's on it's way back. If you are with BT of the other man providers it will set itself up for you so you may have a more trouble free experience.
