Why would I use this N300 wireless router?
The NETGEAR WNR2200 provides a simple solution if you are looking to add to or expand upon your wireless network. A data transfer rate of up to 300Mbps allows you to connect portable devices to your network, providing access to the internet. Internal antenna broadcast an 802.11n 2.4Ghz wireless frequency which provides compatibility with a large amount of Wi-Fi devices. Its compact size allows you to position the router to provide the best possible signal for a small to medium property such as a house, flat or small office. Devices that use WPS can be quickly paired with the router, thanks to the inclusion of a WPS pairing button

Can I use this router for sharing media?
The NETGEAR WNR2200 provides you with four 10/100 fast Ethernet ports to allow you to connect wired only devices such as smart televisions and games consoles to your network. The router also features a USB 2.0 port to allow connection of external devices such as USB printers or hard drives.
Connected devices can be accessed across the wired network or wireless network using the ReadySHARE USB software. Advanced quality of service (QoS) controls allow you to assign network bandwidth where you need it most to provide lag-free wireless gaming or buffer-free streaming to portable devices.

Can I protect users on my network with this router?
The NETGEAR WNR2200 features parental controls which can be used across all devices connected to the router. This allows you to filter potentially harmful web content for users on your network. A guest Wi-Fi network may also be created to allow others to use your wireless internet, safe in the knowledge that your main network and all of its passwords are hidden from them.
The router offers the highest level of security for your wireless devices by using WPA/WPA2 protocols, meaning any data sent to or from a portable device is secure and cannot be viewed from an outside source.

What is NETGEAR Genie?
NETGEAR Genie is a free dashboard application that allows you to monitor, control and fix basic router issues from a portable device such as a smartphone or tablet. View a map of your network to see what devices are connected, and remotely block any unwanted connections. You can also use your portable device as a remote control for your DLNA media devices, and access any media stored on external devices through the router’s USB 2.0 ports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After my Belkin broke down I bought a TP-Link dual band N600 router. This turned out to be rubbish as the wireless kept dropping out. Took it back and got this one, which took literally 5 minutes to set up and is just awesome. Stable as anything and even has it's own app for really easy control of the router. Best one I've ever had. Strongly recommended!

I don't understand why the description mentions NTL and Virgin. Does this mean it won't work for me as I'm with Tiscali (talktalk)?

Asked by: Pauly
This will work fine in your intended application.
