Product overview

• Charges 4 x AA or 2 xf AAA Ni-Zn batteries
• Charges Ni-Zn batteries only (not suitable for charging NiCd or NiMH batteries)
• Nickel Zinc batteries offer higher performance versus NiMH rechargeable batteries (Order Code: N37KA, sold separately)
• 2 independent charging channels
• Timer control
• Trickle charge function keeps batteries topped up when fully charged
• Overcharge, over discharge, short circuit and reverse polarity protection
• Faulty battery detection
• Low battery leakage current
• LEDs indicates charging status
• Worldwide voltage range (100V-240V subject to use with a suitable travel adapter)
• 5-9 hours average charge time

This plug-in charger is suitable for charging 2 or 4 AA or 2 AAA Ni-Zn batteries.
AA Nickel-Zinc batteries and rated at 1500mAh / 2500mWh and have a voltage of 1.6V, making them ideal for power hungry devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NiZn battery charger This is a charger for the purpose of charging ONLY NiZn batteries and at the full price it is rather expensive. The lights which are supposed to go out once the batteries are charged are not very distinctive and fade to an in-between state (glowing very dimly) when the batteries are not fully charged, which is a little disconcerting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works OK if you just leave it alone! Works fine although the 'charging' indicator lights fade to almost nothing as charging progresses. 'Completely' discharged Ni-Zn cells don't initially start charging, but if you leave them in the powered-on charger (presumably on 'trickle charge') they reach a voltage where they will start charging normally without intervention.

how long is the mains power cable on this product? thanks

Asked by: lynne
There is no mains cable for this item, it is designed to plug directly to the socket with the mains plug molded to the back of the unit itself.

Please can you advise what 'timer control' means. Does the charger switch it self off?

Asked by: blueboy320
The timer control is to stop the battery being over charged by switching off after the charge time.

The charger is said to be suitable for 2 to 4 AA batteries but then goes on to give the time to charge 1, does this mean that it is in order to charge just one ?

Asked by: Fred
Charging just one battery should be absolutely fine. The packaging and charger unit both say that the unit will 'Charge 1 to 4 AA or 1 to 2 AAA' (although it suggests that it charges at half-voltage - 300ma rather than 600ma - if you're charging more than 2 AAs simultaneously.) Unfortunately mine was faulty so I can't guarantee this 100%, but the packaging certainly suggests it should be fine.
