Product overview

• Send digital TV and/or another AV source upstairs or to another room without cables• Signal operates through most walls, floors and ceilings• Dual input, watch up to 2 different AV sources from another room• High-gain dipole aerial and higher frequency for improved picture quality without having to direct the signal• 5.8GHz frequency band - no interference from wireless networks or wireless CCTV• Change channel from another room with the built-in IR remote repeater, compatible with Sky+ / Sky HD• Modern piano black finish• Eco friendly - transmitter powers down automatically when receiver is turned off• Typical range up to 10 metres indoors
• Compatible with practically any video source (DVD, TV, satellite, Cable, PC, etc)• Transmit and receive crisp video and hi-fi stereo signals around the home• For use with Freeview, free-to-air, Sky TV boxes and more• 8 channels for minimum of interference• Compatible with practically any video source with a SCART or Phono connection (DVD, TV, satellite, Cable, PC, etc) • PAL and NTSC compatible• Easy to set up• Kit includes 1x transmitter and 1x receiver

Simply plug the transmitter into up to two of your AV appliances and plug the receiver into the SCART socket of the TV. The audio and video will then be transmitted to the second TV wirelessly. For maximum convenience, the unit also relays the signals from your remote control back to the source so you can use your normal remote control to change satellite channels etc from the other room. The transmitter and receiver both have 3 phono plugs (video, L/R audio) so they can be used for many applications including PCs, laptops and projectors.

Please note: The transmission distance is dependent on the construction of the building you are using it in. In modern 3 bedroom houses with partition (dry) walls typically you will be able to transmit anywhere in the house. However buildings with all brick construction will sometimes see a reduction in the range possible and with stone built houses transmission may only be possible to adjacent rooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bit of kit Very pleased with this Nikkai 5.8GHz SCART/Phono Video Sender. I bought it to view Sky+ upstairs on a bedroom TV to avoid having to purchase a Sky multiroom package. The kit worked straight out of the box and is simply plug-in and 'turn on'. Signal received on remote TV very good although you have to adjust antenna very slightly to make picture almost perfect. The transmitter has a hard-wired/non removable SCART connection into the back of it and also a 3 phono AV input allowing 2 devices to be plugged in simultaneously. I do not get any interference with the picture quality or with my Wifi broadcasting from my wireless router situated nearby. The remote IR cable allows you to use your existing remotes to operate devices connected to the transmitter perfectly. Note: The transmitter transmits whatever is being viewed/operated on the devices connected to it only. If you have connected a satellite box such as Sky then you can't watch two separate Sky channels on any connected TV's at the same time. A good buy and well worth the money in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fitted this as a replacement for a 2.4 GHz system which was causing our broadband to drop out. System worked great after a few mins of set-up and even though told that this system was not able to relay the remote signal for a sky plus system it does no problem at all - it is fully compatable with my sky plus system which is around 18 months old - haven't tried it with a HD box yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this to extend the analogue video from my CCTV at the front of the house to my office at the rear of the house, about 10 meters and through two walls. It works very well with a good clear picture on my 10 inch TV.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bought with trepidation after reading previous reviews. Works well in a fairly modern house (i.e. thin walls!). Yes you get some interference if people walk through the beam but what do you want it to do - fry them?!! Instructions aren't only badly translated they're badly written. Shame on Maplin for not demanding more from their suppliers. Remote control works with Humax HD recorder no problems. DO get the RIGHT scart lead in the receiver (or scar lead as referred to in manual at one point). There is no clear indication of which is which so just give each one a go. Quality is incredibly weak - it works but don't knock it off or it'll break. Don't tug any of the cables or they'll break. Don't push the SCART cable in too hard or it'll break (it did, but I managed to fix it!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excelent product worked right out the box, even the remote control for our virgin media set top box was usable. Just a note though, you need to place the IR eye right over the IR reciever on the virgin box for it to enable the remote in the 2nd room. We used a bit of tape to keep it in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly. Easy to set up. Some interference if someone walks through signal, so perhaps not ideal for a busy household, but fine for me. Speedy delivery.

Can you supply an HDMI to TV Scart connector so that I can continue to use my Nakkai A96JJ that I purchased from you a couple of years ago. My new Humax 1100 only has a HDMI socket.

On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

My digital tv aerial is in the loft and my tv is in the lounge at the opposite end of the room to the aerial socket. Can I buy a gadget that will wirelessly send the signal from the aerial to my tv, and another receiver gadget for the back of the tv?

Asked by: Polly
Unfortunately not, as you would be reproducing a broadcast level frequency range, such devices are prohibited under Ofcom regulations without a full broadcast license.
