Product overview

• Split and distribute the signal from an aerial, Sky box or Freeview box• Built-in digital bypass for use with Sky remote extenders (such as our PT73Q Sky Link)• Up to 12dB gain to each output• Short circuit protection on each output• Less than 5W power consumption

A fixed gain plug-in signal amplifier for use with analogue and digital TV signals when fed from a suitable aerial. The amplifier can also be used to link a satellite receiver to a TV and/or a video recorder. This unit is housed in an attractively styled box fitted with a mains lead for plugging directly into a 13A socket. Unlike most on the market this amplifier has a digital bypass built-in. If you are using a Sky remote control extender such as our PT73Q, regular amplifiers prevent them from working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this booster because I was running 2 TV's of a single aerial and one of them was breaking up almost all of the time (Digital signal). Plugged it in, and now both TVs are providing excellent video and audio. Recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy way to improve signal. Went in store and asked advice - didn't want to be climbing in the loft and installing things. The chap in store promised me this would work. Plugged it in re-tuned the TV Box and all my existing channels were boosted and I found and extra 30 channels. Absolutely wood recommend this to anyone who needs a easy way to boost signal without having to wire things in. Top notch product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did improve Sky - but there was an issue. My Sky box RF output channel was set to 68, the highest possible, and this amplifier made the picture much worse, so I conclude it does not amplify high channel numbers. Changed the RF output to 50 and the picture is better with the amplifier. To change the RF output google "change sky rf output channel number" there are many articles on how to do this using a service menu. The magic eye stills works which is why I picked this amplifier. I do recommend this amplifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly as it says on the tin!!!!. Exactly the item I was looking for living in an area with poor signal it has improved my reception considerably, worth every penny. I decided to phone my local Maplin store and was given excellent advice as I needed help regarding the precise model of amplifier I needed. The staff member was extremely kind and helpful having empathy with the fact I am a pensioner and technology can go over my head!!!. I wouldn't hesitate using Maplin in the future.

My flat has a communal aerial, I'm not sure if it is boosted or not. Is this item suitable please?

Asked by: Albie
This should work with any aerial input, however if the signal has already been boosted there is a chance of amplifying any interference present on the line more than the signal itself.

what is the gain 9 or 12db?  why does it vary

Asked by: kevin
The gain will vary based on the signal strength in your area, so if you are in a area of good signal you would get the 12db, in low signal it may be as little as 9db.
