Product overview

• Hide away all of your AV equipment and still operate them with your remote control
• Control three or more AV devices including DVD player, digital set top boxes and VCRs
• Simple set up
• IR signal repeater
• Increase the angle of your IR remote
• 1.5m IR lead length

This device simply repeats the Infrared (IR) signal from your remote through the 3 IR probes attached to the receiver. Extend the range of your remote or bounce it around the corners. There is no complicated setting up, simply plug the unit into the mains socket, position the receiver where you can see it and feed the wires to your AV equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is perfect for the job. Easy to set up, even for non technical people. Works exactly as it should. This was purchased so that we could conceal a Hard Disc Recorder in a drawer in the unit that the TV stands on. The product gives the choice of aiming the remote signal at a large receiver, or alternatively, using the receiver extension which is much less conspicuos, as it is about the size of the top joint of an adult thumb. We chose this option and it works perfectly - it just seems like you point the remote at the TV and the HDD recorder has all its functions available as normal. A brilliant bit of kit, and worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is really excellent. It worked straight out of the box. Almost no instructions come with this product and it doesn't need them It's so simple I can confirm it works with my (1) Sky + (2) Sony DVD player (3) Sony Home Theatre Amp (4) Apple TV. One thing to watch out for in set up: If you have the IR node connected and your AV equipment is in line of sight with the remote at the same time it doesn't work. It must be because it is receiving the signal twice; both through the repeater node as well as normally - it gets confused. So you need to shut the doors on your TV cabinet to make it work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Simple and effective; disappointing range As other reviewers have commented, this device is very easy to setup. I haven't found speed to be an issue; it sends signals as fast as our Freesat PVR can handle them. However its sensitivity/range isn't brilliant. Using my Logitech Harmony remote, this device can only pick up signals from about 3.5m away. This is in comparison with the TV and Hifi which pick up signals from the same remote from at least double the distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Piece Of Kit ! Bought this today to use with a blu ray player and freesat hd box which i have hidden in the cupboard under stairs as the tv is wall mounted with nowhere to put the units this extender works perfectly there is no delay when using remotes the ony gripe is that the lead from the remote reciever is not very long and a jack extension lead does not work as i found out ! the price is a bit high but i guess you get what you pay for a quality piece of kit i would highly recommend this im very pleased !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this product as I have just relocated all my AV equipment into a sideboard, where I wanted to have the doors on the sideboard closed. I looked at a few infra red repeaters and this one looked the best value on paper at least. I received the item quickly from Maplin and the first thing I noticed was that the receiver unit is branded Nikkai, which isn't shown on the website. I placed the receiver on the top of the sideboard, behind my centre speaker and under my TV. The three repeater units are stuck inside the sideboard, to the underside of the roof at the front, so I can't even see them when the doors are open. I have a Denon receiver and DVD player, a Sony TV, a Sky HD Box, a Sky remote control and a One For All remote control. Everything works faultlessly, I didn't even need instructions to set it up and you don't need to program anything to make it work, it worked perfectly straight out of the box with all my equipment hidden behind closed doors! My remotes work even better then when the equipment was on open shelves.......Brilliant!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with Virgin Tivo despite the advice Just a quick note to say that this works perfectly with the Virgin Tivo box, despite the question/answer on here that states it explicitly doesn't work! Managed to get all my AV bits and pieces in a cupboard in my living room, ran some HDMI cables and wall-mounted my LED TV. Looks very tidy and as a result have a very happy other half!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have stuck this unit under a wall mounted plasma TV. My SKY HD unit, DVD and freeview are all operated easily by this unit. The units are in the adjoining room and I have had no problems with the unit so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic piece of kit Bought this earlier today.. Very simple to set up and install. All my AV is in one double fronted cupboard so a small hole was needed to thread the cable through into second space. Works flawlessly without any lag when you press the remote. Using it with Yamaha Amplifier, SKY HD and Apple TV without any issues. I'd recommend placing the sensors loosely with tape to check placement before committing to using the attached tape to place them permanently. All my
