With a unique design, this aerial is much simpler to install than a traditional aerial, no elements to fix on, just unpack and install.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I recently purchased one of these antennas and installed it on an external mast. It worked most excellently for 3 days and then it rained. The signal completely disappeared on both analogue and digital. On examination of the antenna it was found that the driven element mounting box was full of water (n.b the antenna was mounted correctly with the cable entry at the bottom). Closer examination found that the method of sealing the bolts passing through the box were small poorly fitting "O" rings. These were replaced with good tight fitting rings and reassembled. The antenna elements were replaced and sealed on the outside. I would imagine that the antenna will now function correctly. It's a shame to spoil a good product with shoddy sealing components.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried a few aerials, but never had more than a handful of channels. Thought I'd give this a try and it's been brilliant. 80 plus channels on three tv's... All with perfect picture and with no power amplifier. Just got it sitting in a corner of the loft... With a 3way splitter. Highly recommended aerial.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very easy to assemble. Despite its size its pretty light (good when up a ladder) and seems solid enought to withstand the elements. Disappointingly I was unable to get a better signal than with the existing old aerial (even using a signal meter for allignment). Others have reported good signal strength so I put it down to my location & a better existing aerial than I thought! Returned it to Maplin with no problem - great service as ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb! extremely well made was easy to fit in my attic with no alignment needed(just pointed it in what i thought was the correct direction) it picked up loads of new channels straight away and best of all I can now receive the 4 Freeview HD channels. Saved perhaps ?ъ180 on an external install and as it is indoors will never go wrong because of weather etc. Delighted well done Maplin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had a 12 element aerial + amplifier, I had no signal at all. I installed the A22HG with no amplifier and placed it roughly on a box in the attic. The signal improved to 83% with 100% quality. The staff in the Limerick store were very helpfull regarding the best solution for my area. Good product, easy to setup and install.

1. Why is the aerial quoted between limits 9.5 to 15 dB. ? Surely it's fixed and not variable? 2. Is there a pole mounting clamp available and if so will it fasten to a 2" diameter pole? Thank you. JCC.
Asked by: John Clough
The dimensions are fixed, but the directional gain is dependent on the frequency, so the directional gain will change across its design channels

What is the performance difference, if any, between the Nikkai Tri Fold TV Aerial (item A22HG) and the Multi-Element Tri-Bar Digital Wideband TV Aerial (item R61TJ)??  There is a £10.00 difference.

Asked by: rayfos
As we have never tested the 2 products against eachother, we could not give a performance difference.
