Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this so that my mum could watch Freeview in her bedroom, as she does not have an external aerial. The appliance was extremely lightweight and easy to connect to the Freeview box. Once done, I just plugged it in and turned it onto the highest setting and the pictures came through immediately and were 100% perfect for every single channel. I didn't even have to move it around to get a better picture, meaning I could place it where I liked. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When I connected this aerial to my LG flat screen TV (via the DVD/HD recorder) it picked up every freeview channel with no problems what-so-ever unlike the previous internal antennae I was using which left out various stations including ITV1 and CH4!! Firstly I didn't need to amplify the signal with the HG Indoor Aerial at all to obtain all channels with crystal clarity but I didn't even need to plug it in at the mains! I'd definitely recommend this piece of equipment to anyone who either doesn't have or has a poor external aerial.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Having tried several booster type aerials with no joy I decided to try one last time to find an aerial that would actually work in our poor signal area. I read lots of reviews and settled on this aerial. As you've probably gathered from the title of this review I found my Holy Grail. Other aerials of up to 30db gain had only ever returned about 50% watchable channels, this aerial has given me all channels with no interference. I had read on another site that the telescopic parts to these types of aerials are actually for radio reception only, i'm not sure if this is definitely true but my aerial does fully work without these extended or even in a vertical position. Not much more I can say, it's a TV aerial, plug it, connect to the TV and .... it actually works. If this is your last resort, like it was for me, it's worth checking in store that as long as you retain all packaging in good condition and the aerial does not work for you you can take it back for a full refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy to set up and gets a good signal I bought this after our outdoor aerial got blown down and we were quoted a fortune to replace it. I've used this aerial in a couple of different houses (one where the signal strength is usually poor) and it works perfectly in both locations. It took me a couple of minutes to find the optimum position for the aerial the first time I used it but once I'd found the right place to put it (higher than the TV) I got a stable signal and a good picture on all channels. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For an indoor aerial, the reception of freeview channels is excellent. I don't get any HD channels yet. Terrestrial reception is not good though. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great This works great in all rooms but if you have this in the bedroom and you need it to be pitch black to sleep then you will have to get out of bed to turn of the very bright blue light that lights up the whole room. If you could switch that light off it would have a 5 star rating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best of the bunch Works really well however the short lead means the unit has to stay close to the telly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not powerful enough I live 15 miles from nearest transmitter and this model couldn't pick any good signal. Then I found the One for All web site which has a model finder based on your post code. Bingo told me what model I needed and now have a great picture with AV9480 which was next model up.

Would this produce a signal strong enough to run a BT YouView box through it? My current indoor aerial doesn't

Asked by: Binnie100
Unfortunately, this would be down to the signal strength in your area. it is unlikely to be powerful enough

What is the signal range for this aerial, the last aerial i bought was only a 3 mile range

Asked by: jess
That will depend on the circumstances of the surrounding area. How many buildings, hills, etc the signal has to pass through before reaching the local main mast that produces the signal that the aeriel then picks up can seriously deteriorate the signal. These type of aeriels work better when placed near a window for better reception.

Will it work well as an FM aerial for my Yamaha receiver?

Asked by: John 22
It's impossible to advise on suitability as you have included no details as to what exactly your "Yamaha receiver" is, or how it connects to an aerial. If you could email "; and give some details we may be able to advise. Product description, model number, type of device, connectivity to external peripherals, and maybe even some photos of the connectors it utilises will all help us to determine suitability of the aerial for the usage you suggest.

I can only receive 8channels including ITV Film 4 and Channel 5 the TV is a Techwood 8years old the aerial is plugged directly to TV in bedroom would I need a set top box as well ?

Asked by: nanny
adding a set top box would be of no benefit as it would just capture the same number/suite of channels. Your suite of channels is decreed by signal clarity & transmission power in your area, the only way to increase this is with a better/external aerial.
