Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well Once positioned near to a window, this product works well. Easy enough to set up and gives a good clear picture. Positioning the aerial is key to tuning the channels. If you can't position it right be a window, this product may not be for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant We are in a rural valley about 12 miles from the nearest transmitter and I am using this aerial at first floor level laying flat on a chest of drawers. Its on the side of the house furthest from the transmitter with both an external and internal wall in between, plus wardrobes/cupboards. I get the same number of freeview stations as on our main television which is connected to an amplified loft aerial. Faultless product, as far as I am concerned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a joke ! This indoor aerial is absolutely rubbish. I have hd freeview and it gave me no Hd coverage at all and in standard it was 50%. I then bought a outdoor aerial and wow 95% on hd coverage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Aerial Bought this for a static caravan in the middle of Northumberland, once in position in the window it worked really well. Only got 19 Digital TV channels and a load of DAB Radio stations from the BBC. Just what we needed a good item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Discrete Effective solution for a ground floor flat. Bought this unit as a replacement for a long serving amplified internal aerial. I am in a ground floor flat about 6 miles from Crystal Palace and used to have to place an indoor aerial in the window to get "watchable" reception on all the Freeview channels. With this unit and I can hide it away in a bookcase and get full strength/quality reception on all the Freeview channels (BBC + others) even on the lowest amplification setting. (No drop-outs or random chirps). A little (~ 5 minutes) experimentation was required to get the exact sweet spot in terms of orientation and rotation but it is worth those few minutes. The power supply is very small and does not seem to get too hot. The aerial and amplification unit seem solidly made and looks as though they will last the rough and tumble of the average living room. Recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unbelievably awful! If I could score 0 stars I would. Utterly useless and amazed that Maplin sell such rubbish? £52?...it's not worth £2. Doesn't work. Badly designed. Terrible!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish Absolutely rubbish. I have bought it and am getting very poor reception about 10 - 30% according to my TV, picture is very bad and stutters all the time. Will be returning for a refund. I would give 0 stars if I could.

How far will this work away from a transmitter

Asked by: Anonymous
The manufacturer states that this is best used no further than 15 miles from the source of transmission, however environmental factors such as positioning and orientation, construction materials used in property, local terrain and surrounding radio interference can affect overall reception strength. If you are in a reasonably strong signal area and can position the aerial close to a window it should work fine. DigitalUK have a postcode checker which will allow you to check the average signal strength at your property.

can this be plugged into a dvd recorder which is attached to the tv instead of being plugged directly into the tv.

Asked by: mark30
These would depend if the DVD player allowed an aerial pass through or not.
