What is this keypad for?
This keypad is the perfect addition to your Panasonic Smart Home security system. It allows you to set the alarm for when you leave your premises and disarm when you return. The keypad comes with talking notifications set as standard, which let you know if one of your sensors has detected unusual conditions – for example if a door has been opened.

How does the keypad connect?
The siren wirelessly connects to the hub using Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT). DECT technology allows for transmission of data up to 300m in clear line of sight. It is more secure than Wi-Fi due to DECT being invisible to standard wireless devices.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Panasonic Keypad Pretty good but needs a software update desperately. When at home - Press the home button to activate the door sensors, not the camera as the motion detection will go off frequently. I only use this when going to bed which I have set a profile for the camera to record should anyone enter the house under motion detection, this does not set the alarm off but the door, or other sensors should take care of that. If an alarm is triggered, say the front door on entry it will say "Front Door Open" then the alarm will sound from the keypad after a short time, depending on how long you set the entry delay time to. My only gripe with it as others have mentioned is that if you enter your house and disable the alarm, you will then have to press the unlock symbol and do it again. When you disable it the first time, it will only stop the alarm, not disable it. This means if enter your code only once a motion sensor is most likely to pick you up and the alarm will start again. I have called Panasonic about this issue - The lady at the end of the phone sighed, as if to say not another call about this, she explained that they are aware of this and are working on a software update which will automatically update to the hub (you will be notified by your app when this happens) She could not say when this is going to happen. So the question is "Should I buy it"? Well it is still much easier than whipping your phone out, connecting and then disabling the alarm, If you really cannot be bothered to enter the code twice, then I would wait until they do the update before purchasing. I have added a video with a demonstration of the unit.
