What does the Eneloop BQ-CC51 Charger do?
This Panasonic charger is a basic model that’s designed for occasional users. It can charge up to four AA or AAA batteries, in multiples of two. The charger runs on a range of voltages (100V to 240V) so it can be used worldwide. The charger uses a low charge-current to ensure the batteries have a long cycle life.

What batteries are supplied with the charger?
The BQ-CC51 charger is supplied with four Eneloop 1,900mAh batteries – which are ideal for cameras, games console controllers and torches. These batteries can be recharged up to 2,100 times and will retain 70 per cent of their charge after 10 years. The Panasonic Eneloop batteries are pre-charged, so are ready to use straight from the packet.

Does this need an adaptor so it can be used in a UK 3 pin socket?

Yes, the device has a 3-pin UK plug on its back, but this is a terrible charger. It has no way of detecting when a cell is full, it will continue to charge it way past its rated capacity. This will cause the cell to significantly increase in temperature and will result in severely reduced cycle life. A smart charger is always a better option.
