How easy is this drone to fly?
The Bebop drone is one of the easiest drones on the market to fly. Using the downloadable FreeFlight 3 app it is fully controllable up to 300m in the air, and you can record to the internal memory and onto a microSD card if you require more space. If you lose sight of your drone, you can press the return to home button and the drone will return to the starting position.

How does the return to home function work?
When you press the return to home button on the app, your drone will fly back to the starting position using GPS, at a minimum height of 10m. It will continue to hover at 2m until you land it. This function is perfect if you have lost sight of the drone and wish to retrieve it.

What sort of performance will I see out of this drone?
This drone has a maximum speed of 13m/s which is the equivalent of 29mph. The two 1200mAh LiPo batteries give you a maximum flight time of 22 minutes and will ensure you have enough time to have fun and get some great action shots.

Safe flying is your responsibility
We fully encourage safe and responsible flying. We recommend you read the CAA’s/IAA’s website and The Drone Code for full information on safe and responsible flying.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing endurance Had a Bebop1 and sky controller as Xmas gift 2015. Throughout 2016 the experience has been disappointing for 2 reasons. Firstly, the camera that is promoted as HD only really returns good photos course invery bright conditions and secondly, the battery life is very poor. What is the point of a 2km range for the controller when the bebop would not be able to make it back ? Realistically 5 minutes is the maximum time airborne....sometimes in cooler weather duration is much less, maybe 2 or 3 minutes. Now I see there is a bebop2 claiming much better performance, but this has made my bebop worthless. How about a trade in system?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I've had my Bebop for a few weeks now after having the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 for over a year. I must say I absolutely love it! Like James says ignore the reviews about the battery connector as it's simple, pull the string to release the connector. I am getting around 11 minutes flight time out of my batteries and with two batteries included in the kit that allows plenty of flying time. As I said, I had the Drone 2.0 before so am well used to flying but the Bebop is lightening fast and I would recommend turning all setting down and putting a height limit on of 3-5mtrs until you are well used to it. The camera is mega!! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great action camera Just got a hold of the Parrot Bebop, simpy love it. The video streaming is great, especially when you have on your iPad. digital stabilitsation of the camera works well and proivdes cristal clear recording. i am still learning how to handle it with care as i realise that you cannot act as "Maverick" on his F14 out of the box.... my best advise is to gradually gain confidence on piloting the Bebop. i am serously consedreing getting teh Skycontroller. gret product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it,love it I don't normally write reviews but I needed for this. The Bebop (funny name :-) ) was brought as a present by my wonderful girlfriend after many heavy hints, It has turned a 40 year old into a teenager. I love it to bits!!!!!! it is cheaper than the other Quads of this tech and a hell of a lot easier to fly even for someone like me. The camera is great and the design is so cool,my mates want one now, I might charge them to play with it :-). I'm a fan of Parrot and have their headphones too. Yes its not perfect but nothing is but I know from the headphones there will be updates and the support is great, they listen to you. The complaints about the battery connector are silly, they need to read the full user guide, yes I am one of those strange men that read them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect drone for Beginners!!! Love this thing! My first one got hacked or something and flew away(I recommend setting up a wifi password). Needless to say I was devastated seeing I only had it a few weeks. Called customer support and after filling out all the conditions of the flight they reviewed it and sent me another. Top notch customer service! The only thing is the new battery that came with it just blinks red and won't charge. Also another of my batteries started doing the same thing. Oh well. I would still recommend parrot to anyone looking to get into the hobby. Absolutely impressed and I will continue to buy parrot products!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great drone I love it. I got this for Xmas and I really enjoy it. First I only used my phone to control it but I lost signal a couple times and crashed. The drone is very durable because it didn't break. When I purchased the sky controller it was very different. The control and range I had now was excellent. The camera is very good for pictures and video. The only problem I had is that the propellers were attached incorrect. There is one with an opening on it and this one goes on the engine with the rod at the top. I also put a cool wrap on it. Also there should be a light on it when flying in the dark. Thanks David

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's a toy I bought the bebop with the sky controller when they first came out. I ended up sending the first one back because it was horrible at holding altitude during forward flight. The replacement, well it flew just like the first did. I have constant disconnects at little distance and as have logged well under five hours of flight time since I bought the Bebop because of it horrible flight characteristics. I took it out again last week and found that all four of the batteries while charged, don't hold a charge for more than 2 minutes of flight time. I've been building and flying drones for years and have never had such an ill behaved flying machine. I would not recommend a Bebop to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ready straight out the box This item is brilliant, stable, a good drone. much better than its previous stable mate the ar drone 2.0 connecting the phone or tablet can be a little bit difficult at times but you soon get the hang of it

Does the Bebop come with the two hand control unit, or is that an extra to the claimed cost of the drone.

Asked by: Jim C
Since asking this question I have been informed that the hand controls are an extra cost. Both the drone and the hand controls can be purchased together or separately.
