Connect this Pimoroni Explorer pHAT to your Raspberry Pi Zero and start creating even more imaginative projects. Open up your prototyping options with connections available for an Arduino or 5V trinket, or connect solenoids and relays to create large scale experiments with the 5V powered outputs. All of the connections are clearly labelled so you know exactly what each one does. The board comes with female headers to be soldered onto your board.
What outputs are on the board?
Run devices like solenoids and relays with the four 5V powered outputs on this pHAT. Each channel can supply 500mA, up to a total of 1A from all four. With this, you can make a moving figure or design your own vehicle with two H-bridge motor drivers. The drivers can run a motor forwards or backwards (with up to 200mA per channel) and you can even soft-PWM to fully control your motor speed.
What inputs are included on the board?
Experiment with eight different inputs. Four 5V tolerant inputs let you connect your Pi to receive inputs from 5V systems like the Arduino Leonardo (not included), Uno (sold separately, Order Code N30KU) or 5V Trinket (sold separately, Order Code N60EA). The five-channel buffer will accept anything from 2-5V as a logic high. The analogue inputs are perfect for adding sensors like light or temperature sensors to your Raspberry Pi Zero.

Designed for the Raspberry Pi Zero, this pHAT is compatible with the Raspberry Pi A+, B+, Pi 2 and Pi 3 as well. The Explorer pHAT has a full Python library, documentation and examples for you to try here.
