The pHAT DAC (digital to analogue convertor) gives you great quality sound from your Raspberry Pi Zero. This digital to analogue convertor can pump out 24 bits at 192 kHz from the Raspberry Pi’s I2S interface (interconnect to sound). The heat of the DAC is a Texas Instrument PCM5102A stereo audio DAC chip.
What connections does the pHAT have?
The pHAT DAC is designed to connect to your Raspberry Pi Zero’s two 20 GPIO headers, and will also work with all Raspberry Pi 40 pin boards. The pHAT comes with a 3.5mm stereo audio jack for headphones or small powered speakers, and there is also landing for a twin phono connector (connector sold separately).
