Why are these headphones an excellent mid-range choice?

A number of design features make the HDJ-1500s a fantastic headphones option.

Designed to a middle ground headphone situated between the popular HDJ-2000s and the entry-level HDJ-500s, these headphones incorporate features from the HDJ2000s while staying closer to the great low price of the HDJ-500s.

The closed design of the earpieces has a number of benefits, both for portable audio and DJ applications. Closed-back headphones offer brilliant passive noise isolation, blocking outside noise to enable you to immerse yourself in your music, or focus directly on the mix at hand. Being able to precisely hear the rhythm and tempo of your tracks is a necessity, and this feature helps you do just that.

Another benefit of the closed design is that of sound leakage. While also blocking noise from outside entering the headphones, this also helps to prevent your music from leaking out of the headphones. Listen in peace and rest assured that you won't be disturbing people around you.

To further add to the already great noise isolation, specific to the HDJ-1500s is an isolation chamber designed to help block low to mid frequencies from entering the headphones.

High quality components and materials deliver perfectly balanced sound over the complete frequency spectrum. 50mm drivers allow for accurate and powerful low frequencies to be reproduced without any distortion. Be prepared for vocals with excellent presence, defined, punchy kick drums and snappy snares - these headphones can do it all brilliantly.

The folding headband and swivelling earpieces provide a sensible storage solution while also enabling one-ear monitoring, a must-have for DJs who prefer this style. Combine this with the single sided, detachable cable and you've got all the necessary ingredients for a top-notch set of DJ headphones.

What about comfort?

Large, over-ear cups not only look stylish but also contribute to the HDJ-1500s excellent comfort. With urethane foam ear pads finished in durable leather for a premium feel and extended comfort during long sessions, you'll be able to listen to these headphones for hours on end without discomfort.

What devices and sources can I connect to these headphones?

Thanks to coming equipped with a standard gold-plated 3.5mm jack connection, the HDJ-1500s can connect to a huge number of everyday devices and, if used with a 6.3mm adapter, most DJ equipment too. Whether you're DJing, travelling, or just enjoying some music - these headphones will go above and beyond.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very decent pair of cans for DJ use! As a DJ playing multiple venues every week, these headphones have really impressed me with their sound and durability. Can use them in live gigs and studio environments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent headphone I am an audio professional and own several extremely high end headphones, and, yes, one or two of them are better...but not all. This headphones possesses a somewhat dark character, but with excellent bass, and good clarity. I have to fight for these, everyone, from my wife to my kids, and myself, like these, they make modern music, from metal to dubstep, and voice on VOIP services sound good. And, this is important, I have dragged my set all over the world, used them for listening on the plane, to demoing music and music-tech over and again, and they still work. I've actually spent more on multiple sets of cheap phones for the wife and kids, and, inevitably, they break, when I should have just bought them these to start with.

Please can you advise on a realistic price for a replacement cable for these phones? I understand that, due to the proprietary locking system to prevent the cable from being pulled out of the head set itself, the cable alone is approx £50?!

Asked by: I do not BELIEVE it
You are correct the replacement cables seem to range from around £50 - £65 we do not stock the replacement cables ourselves.
