Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective fly killer We chose this fly killer because it seemed to be easy to install and powerful enough to do the job effectively. We have been pleased with the results. We use it in the kitchen where we a problem with a few large flies coming in from the fields when the door has been open. We only switch it on when we know there are flies in the room. It is most attractive to the flies if other lights are switched off

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just quick tip Bought this item as it has replaceable components, unlike some other brands which are solid state at the same price, instructions should point out that the fly catching tray works as an off switch, took time to work this out, thought it was faulty, does the job

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does the job This is for the bigger kitchen/kitchen dinette . I would say permanant fixing is best. I have tried the smaller blue light ones but they cannot catch the larger insects this does.

How noisy is this machine?  I'd like to put it in our hallway at night but don't want to disturb the children's sleep.

When bugs hit the grid, a cracking noise will be heard but apart from that the item should not produce much sound.
