Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used this at work and home for years for fault finding on all sorts of domestic and scientific equipment and it's still going strong after about ten years. It may not be the last word in precision (it may be - I just haven't had cause to calibrate it) but it does everything a technician needs and more. Highly, highly recommended and now it's cheaper than it was years ago!! What's not to like about that? Robert McDonald Thermochronology Lab Manager Glasgow University

I have measured the Voltage of an electronic transformator (Kopp YT105), nominal voltage 12V AC, and found 5,8V. How come? (Is it possible, that the high frequency of the transformer cannot be measured correctly by this multimeter?)

what setting do i use to test resistance on a 70amp car fuse

Asked by: thorpy
I cannot fully ascertain from the question what exactly you are trying to measure, but would STRONGLY advise you do not go sticking the probes from this multi meter across a 70 AMP live load as this is a potentially LETHAL current and outside of the measuring ability of this device. If you are in anyway unsure I would advise you consult with a qualified auto electrician for advice. Whilst this is a discontinued item for us, instructions can be downloaded here. https://maplindownloads.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/GW18-7997.pdf Typically you would measure resistance on the resistance scale (ohms) (out of circuit) Typically you would test the continuity of a fuse use the continuity tester (out of circuit) Typically you would measure the load using the DC amps scale. (this unit has a max load of 10A)

Can you get a temperature measurement probe for this meter to read up to 250-300 Deg Centigrade - for checking an oven temperature.

Asked by: Kioti1
This is a multimeter meant for reading electrical voltages and currents. This does not read temperature
