What makes this blowtorch different
This self-igniting blowtorch is ideal for both hobbyists and professionals. Simply twist the child-resistant button and the torch activates instantly, giving you a maximum temperature of 1300°C. Powered by butane, this PT200 blow torch will operate for up to one hour before running out of butane.

Do I need anything else for this blowtorch?
To make this blowtorch operate, you will need to fill it with butane. The torch can be refilled simply and easily by using an aerosol of butane such as Order Code N59AN.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On first fill of the torch, it worked very well. I was using it on full power to silver solder brass components. On the next refill, it sputtered and the flame went out within a few seconds every time. I thought I might have refilled it incorrectly, but I followed all instructions to a T. Without igniting it, I turned on the gas and could hear it cough and sputter, so it wasn't the ignition. I don't know how these things work, but there seems to be a problem with the gas valve on full. As I needed a torch that went over 600c with a consistent flame, this is now useless. If you're not bothered about using the higher temps then this is fine. It seems to have problems only on the higher end setting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have purchased and used this item and it great. If you are experiencing the same issue as the other reviewer above, you need to adjust the setting wheel just below the Slider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work great, once you adjust the regulator These can sputter etc. if not adjusted correctly. If you look in the cut out for the gas flow slider there is a wheel under the main slider. Turn it to the left to reduce the gas flow or right to increase.

Can you use this with glass?
Asked by: elaine
This can reach temperatures of 1400 C glass normally melts between 1400 and 1700 so it would be touch and go, but it would depend on the type of glass and the application.

Is this blowtorch filled by attaching gas to a valve at the bottom or is a gas canister, say, Maplin''s refill canister, inserted in the same way as in the Iroda micro-jet? It does not tell on the Iroda website.
