Rated 5 out of 5 by John0723 from Nicely constructed enclosure, cable and carry pouch. No problems installing a 500GB disk and connecting to a laptop running Windows 7 SP1 using the supplied cable which has two USB connectors to ensure adequate power is provided. Two screws release the end of the unit which is then pulled off to reveal a small PCB with a standard SATA connector. Once the HDU is connected two screws (supplied) lock it into place. A small foam pad is also provided to ensure the drive does not rattle in the case. The aluminium case has a thin plastic shield fitted on one side to ensure the PCB on the HDU does not short out. Once reassembled and connected to a PC Windows loads the necessary drivers quickly and the unit is up and running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dragon from Just like its big brother, this is perfect! I already own three of the 3.5" Probox USB 2.0 enclosures so I know just how good they are, and this smaller version is just like its big brother - solid, very reliable and well worth the price. The enclosed pouch is a marvellous touch and you actually only need to use one of the USB plugs unless you are using a laptop in which both are preferred. I would however, suggest placing some adhesive feet on the corners so air can flow underneath the drive to keep it cool, but bear in mind this may result in the drive not fitting in the pouch easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Martalis from Buy with confidence The first review explains this well so I won't repeat. Surprisingly good quality for the price, very easy to install your drive, and worked first time with both my desktop and laptop PCs. Very pleased with my purchase.

the cable has 3 ends, 1 plugs into the unit and the other 2 are USB, do I need to use both USB? (one looks like it is usb to usb on a smaller wire)
If you are powering the hard drive from the host device the both USB must be connected, one provides power the other provides connectivity

Can this be with the humax free sat box that records?
This is just an empty box. You would place a hard drive inside it to make your very own custom USB connected external hard drive. I'd need to know exactly which Humax box you wish to attach it to to answer the question correctly.
