Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the electronics hobbyist I have been using, up until now an older model, but I wanted to upgrade to a newer model. This model incorporates the bubble option to greatly aid etching time. Now, I've just two gripes, sorry to say. The first is the mechanical timer. I would of liked to see, an electronic version with either LCD or LED display to show temperature, and the ability to prescisey change the temperature. As with my previous model, I used a small temperature gadget with proble to show the temperature of the chemical, then using a small piece of tape, write this value next to the timer knob.To update this product with electronic timer, I cannot see it would cost much. My second gripe, is the removal of chemical from the tank. It's not hard to use the syphon to remove from tank to storage vessel, but I would of liked to see a tap or pipe outlet with removable 'bung', to again remove chemical from tank to storage vessel. Some users preference is Ferric Cholride, (like myself), and sometimes can be messy. But, besides these comments, the product is excellent, whether the hobbyist is starting out to make in house PCB's or upgrading the model. I'm very happy with mine, so I hope these do not put off customers. Can I also add that after I searched around for this product, Maplin was the cheapest, along with free postage. Note : ( I am not in anyway infiltrated with Mega Electronics (UK) or Maplin Electronics, and these are my own personal views and comments )

How much ferric does it take and can you leave the ferric it in the tank till it needs changing

Asked by: Engine driver
This would take up to 5L of Ferric solution, it is not recommended to leave Ferric to stand.
