Rated 5 out of 5 by from I recently purchased the "Professional CD/DVD Scratch Repairer kit" plus additional cleaning pads on the web, these items arrived at this address both within two days of each other well packaged and in good condition. Having tried out this machine I have found it easy to use and does the job well. Many other items I have purchased from Maplin's in the past have been found fit for purpose, If you have a problem with a purchased item you will find the staff on internet or in store's most courteous and helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely no complaints. Works brilliantly. Two installation CDs, that have not loaded for a while, now work perfectly, saving time downloading them from the Internet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The initial buff function/pads makes a pretty good difference on its own, the repair fluid/pads didnt bring the disk back to as close to new as I expected but they are definatley much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruins discs...! Bought today and trialled it on 2 discs (old ones I don't want any more). They had a few very minor marks and one had a fairly deep scratch. The instructions say to use the buffer pads then the repair pads and then polish with the third set. The red buffer pads created circular marks (like a badly polished car), the yellow repair pads did little except create a circular scratch around the middle of the playing surface (the worst kind of scratch for a media disc like CDs & DVDs etc!) and the polishing added a couple more. The disc ended up in a far worse state that I started with. Maybe if the disc or game was totally unplayable it may bring it back to life but I would urge extreme caution in using this to spruce up your general collection.

Where do you put the repair fluid, is it on the pad, on the cd or base of the casing. Which is the right side, is it from you looking at at or from the back.

Asked by: Falco3
This is explained on our website for the item . Under the mail picture for the item is a blue circle with a blue arrow in side, this is a video to view which explains ease of use.
