About this product

Overview

Product overview

• Allows equipment with SCART or phono outputs to plug in to a TV or aerial socket• Direct channel selection• Wideband - TV channels 21 to 69• Aerial loop-through• SCART and phono inputs• No loss in quality!
• Ideal for DVDs, digital TV boxes and CCTV cameras without RF/aerial sockets and for TVs without a SCART socket
• Mains powered
• Tough metal housing

If your TV does not have a SCART socket then this is for you. Connect any composite video device, such as a CCTV camera or camcorder to the aerial socket of a TV. This versatile modulator allows you to select the RF channel with simple DIP switches. Composite video and stereo audio inputs are via phono (RCA) sockets or the SCART socket. An RF input is provided as well as an output, allowing loop-through connection, so that the output of this modulator can be added into an existing aerial distribution network. The full range of available channels means that multiple modulators can be ‘daisy-chained’ and also avoids conflict with existing broadcast channels (including Channel 5) and other domestic equipment (VCR, Sky, DVD etc). An additional ‘brightness’ control allows the video input level to be adjusted. This modulator is mains-powered and housed in a sturdy metal case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this over 2 years ago. I have a Virgin V+ box and TV's in the lounge, kitchen and bedroom. The aerial is plugged into this modulator then goes to an amplifier/distributor and so onto the tv's. The modulator is plugged into the video scart on the V+ box, (I understand that the tv scart does not work if your main tv is connected via a HDMI cable). This has worked faultlessly untill yesterday when Virgin cable went down for nearly a day. When my service was restored I could not get an analogue signal for my other 2 sets. I reset the dip switches to the first channel, as the broadcast analogue channels are no more, re-tuned the analogue channels on my tv's. Everything is now back to normal. Good picture and sound. The only draw back is that you can't change the Virgin box from another room. I wanted this just to watch the channel that was on the Virgin box as I passed from room to room. I would guess that the reviewers that had sound and vision problems did not set the dip switches to choose a channel well away from the broadcast channels. As these no longer exist it should no londer be a problem. For my needs I give this top marks for good sound, vision and reliability. theskenic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased this so that i could run a cable from my Virgin media Tivo box to another tv. Was just a simple process of plugging a scart into this and the back of the Tivo, connecting a cable to the tv out and then doing a channel search on the other tv. Works perfect with no interference, all you need is a remote extender to finish the job so that you can change channels. I used a old tv sender, just used it without connecting the scart leads and it works great. Would fully recommend this product and is simple to use and cheap compared to running another Tivo box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Permanent screeching sound on audio output on 3 devices tried. Seems to be a design fault. Don't buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this modulator online but it was found to be faulty. Screeching sound on the audio all the time. Drove to nearest shop and was offered an exchange item. On testing the replacement it also had noise on the sound channel albeit at a lower level. Seems like a design fault. Would not buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an excellent little product with a whole range of practical uses. Put simple is allows you to connect anything with a scart or RCA output to any TV in the house. Besides that, it really does come in handy for showing a CCTV camera on different TV's. Also a little note, I as many others have lost the book to the modulator, and recently I purchased another modulator to add to my current collection of them in use. Following this, I have made a nice little single page userguide in the hope it helps others out who may have lost their original book. Editors note: External link removed. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought to overcome a digibox issue where manual suggested it had a modulator for coax output, but set up proved it didn't. Instructions were not as good as I had hoped and struggled to get TV to see output, but persevered with dip switches and searching in analogue and digital modes and eventually found it in analogue. picture is of a very reasonable quality with no interference.

how to switch converter to see dvd.? I have connected aerial and dvd I see all channels from aerial but I can't see anything from dvd

Asked by: kamil
The signal from the DVD is added to the incoming aerial signal on the designated frequency you have pre-selected. You will need to re-tune your TV to include this new signal. The signal will be on the Analogue tuner channel and will be at the location you have selected using the dip switch configuration in the user guide. http://52.50.15.149:8072/Downloads/user-manual-9935
