What can I do with the Propel Sonic?
Whether you want to perform aerial manoeuvres or shoot aerial photography, this Propel Sonic drone has you covered. You are able to fly for a good flight time of 10 minutes, with recharging taking between 80 to 100 minutes. In addition, you can take great aerial photographic shots thanks to the maximum operating distance of 150m, allowing you to take stunning shots of scenic landscapes.

Have important telemetry information at hand, with the embedded screen on the controller providing information such as battery life, speed and camera status indications, reducing the need to remember every aspect of the drone while you fly. The camera on the Propel Sonic provides detailed 720p recordings at 30 frames per second, with pictures captured at a maximum resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. Your recordings are captured onto a microSD card (not included, one such as our A57KN would be perfect).

Can beginners fly this too?
Stability of the drone isn’t a concern with the six axis gyroscopic chip keeping the Propel Sonic stable in the air, giving you a good platform to learn from. The option to choose between three of four channel modes, lets you change the way the drone is able to move, which is perfect for beginners. Where three channels gives you ascend, descend, forward, backward, left and right movements. On the other hand, four channels add the ability for you to be able to bank to the left and right, opening you up to greater manoeuvrability and aerial stunts. Automatically land the drone, with it still responding to the controller so that you guide it over obstacles while it proceeds to land, which is an excellent feature for beginners who may not be confident in landing. Regardless of flying ability, at the push of a button you can perform 360 degree stunt rolls, helping to add an extra element to your recordings.

Are there spare parts available for this?
Unfortunately aerial accidents may cause you to use up all the spare propellers supplied. Free spares for a year from date of purchase, please contact us on 0330 123 3457 for details

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Propel hd video drone Excellent drone easy to fly shame spare batteries can't be found easily. Think a mod is required 3.7volt 800mah battery may try a 1000ma may just get longer flight time

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lost without trace!! Bought in September. Used several times an it performed well. Took it out today and it took off and became unresponsive to the controller immediately. Would not turn, rotate, or auto-land and quickly gained height. Last seen disappearing over the North Shields horizon. Gone but not forgotten. UTTER WASTE OF MONEY!! Got one star review because a no star review is not possible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT A GOOD CHOICE This was bought for me as aBirthday present.I spent a long time reading and following the instructions. Apart from the fact you cannot purchase batteries locally .The unit itself has a surge problem and can accelerate to heights very quickly causing it to lose control .Unfortunately UK Propel do not stock the free parts or batteries .The drone is made of breakable plastic so be careful what you fly it into as parts are hard to come by. As an experienced drone op I can only give this a 1 star rating

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for starters Was brought this for my Birthday a few months ago. Best to fly in light winds only otherwise it does drift. Get a full 10 minutes flight time. Easy to control and great fun. Great introduction to drone flying, recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not pleased! ....So wish i had read reviews before i bought it for my son for christmas. I tested the "first one"! before i wrapped it, after fully charging battery i flew it for a about 7 mins all seemed good, did everything it said on the write up. Then put battery back on charge ao it was ready for use on xmas, but after a few mins charging the charge light went out and it wouldnt charge. Maplins replaced complete unit without any fuss. Didnt have time to test the 2nd one as was late on xmas eve and thought it was maybe/hopefully a one off problem. Charged and took out the 2nd one on xmas day ( today), the battery seemed ok but after syncing and starting up propellers there was no response when trying to ascend most of the time, or only one propeller would accelerate. I tried several times and more to switch of and re sync but by the time it finally did what it was supposed to the battery was dead! Was very patient with it, recharged battery and tried again but still the same. Was complete let down. I am going to take back tommorow and put a bit extra cash on the Hubson drone..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average drone It is fairly easy to control until the wind catches it and it goes all over the place. Battery life is poor and mine broke because the wind caught it and the controls became useless. It flew over my house and landed in the road. I thought it was ok because everything was intact but something was wrong with the electrics and only two propellers worked properly. It was fun whilst it lasted but I would recommend spending some more money on a Phantom drone instead because they are more reliable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very fragile The main body of this drone is very fragile. After first crash I broke an arm of it. The replacement part is quite expensive. Poor video quality despite HD in the name. Overpriced for its build quality.

The left joystic of my controller for this drone, broke off its base. (son's friend dropped it). Is there a way to buy a spare controller or even repair the existing one I have? If not, can the drone be used with a universal flight controller?

Asked by: ta6hbe
Unfortunately, Maplin does not stock a spare remote for this drone, I would suggest contacting Propel for inquiries in regards to compatibility with universal remotes.
