If you are running longer cables the use of the balanced connections will allow you to significantly reduce the chances of the signal quality being affected by external electrical noise.

How powerful is this amplifier?
This amplifier has a maximum power of 1600W at 8? when operating in bridged mode or can deliver two 500W RMS channels at 4?. The dual blue LED back lit VU meters and clip LEDs give you the ability to monitor your levels and to calibrate your input levels to achieve optimum sound quality. Overload protection reduces the risk of damage to equipment. This amplifier also features a temperature cut off to prevent overheating. Featuring soft start functionality to reduce the risk of surges this amplifier protects your system while powering up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought this for our Church as part of a Bundle. At this price I was not expecting much as I had been involved with a previous church using the renowned Peavey equipment. This amp rocks, it has good transient response and plenty of power with good bandwidth. Very impressive for the price. Have been using it now for three months with out a hitch. When a kid pushed up the master out on the desk causing massive feedback the overload kicked in before any damage was done to the amp or speakers, impressive! 9 out of 10, Excellent value and as good as if not better than the Peavy system I was using beforehand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought one of these to power a custom built subwoofer. It could provide plenty of bass at 800wRMS, but it does go into thermal cutout after playing a while. You get plenty of watts for a small amount of money. The only disadvantage is it weighs a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Have been told this amp is not that good but i must say i find it to be powerful with quite good bass (a little thick at times) and generally very clear on vocals, mid range and treble appear well balanced. i use it mostly for singing. I run it through Peavey 400Watt Bass subs and Peavey 15" 500Watt Main units on each channel. Goes very loud without taxing amp, needles hardley move. It is fed via an Allan Heath mixer and Pioneer twin cd deck. The old saying of 'rubbish in' 'rubbish out' may hold true, so keep the ancillary equipment of good quality and you wont go wrong. There is no switch on 'Thump' due to soft start, about a 2 second pause, the blue lights are pleasing and the fans can be heard on idle but not intrusive. The amp is very heavy due to the large power supply which can indicate it can cope well when wound up with some reserve in hand (my asumption not fact). To finish it can be recomended but as said, feed it with good equipment and out into good equipment. Lots of Watts for little money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought two of these 1600 amps about three years ago. There both working well without any problems. One amp powering two Peavey 15 Messenger Pro's @ 4ohm and the other (in bridge mode) single Band Pass sub with two 15 inside, 8 ohm. Very powerful, lots of headroom, good balanced sound. Both amps are housed in racks for protection although there weight demands quality. The protection circuits can be a little sensitive i.e someone pulls out a lead by tripping over it, can trip the amp. Maybe better than damaging your system? These amps in my opinion are good quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Generally very good amp,Have any other owners got a low level buzz through it? Im suer when I 1dt got it a couple of weeks ago,it was silent with no signal but I moved the position of the amp and now there is a buzz. I have done a little fan mod so it runs very slow to cut out the hairdryer sound it made and then all i could hear was the transformer, exceptable but now there is this other noise. Very common in PA amps i know but just wondering if anyone else has the issue to. Im using it to power a sub in bridged mode

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this amp about 9 months ago. for about seven months went perfectly, very clear sound. Then suddenly, after 7 months down, actually not working. I went to a store and I changed it with a new one. He then went just a month after he stopped. You leave when you most need it. It's a quality product, but not made to last, are just money thrown to the wind. I am very disappointed with this product. For those who have the courage to buy it, I hope not happened to me :))

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i was worried when i got this amp to start with because of the cheap price for such a large amp, since i have had it i have had no problems with it and have been very impressed with the sound quality the shear weight of the amp is a small problem but you can tell that some one would have a hard job taking it !really happy with the wattage to ?? ratio

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I purchased the Power Amp 1600 after being recommended by a member of Maplin staff...I bought this amp along with a full package of disco equipment - speakers, mixer and various other items. I have had some problems with this item? it has switched "off" during a gig. I have returned the amp and have to wait for it to be tested, in a nut shell excellent amp with power.........probs with turning off when you least expect it? No this amp was never hammered and only used prob on 6 gigs. Hope you have better luck than me....I may re-rate this amp when its working as it should. Moderator note: The unit has an overload protection system built into it. This is the reason the amp is cutting out, it is a feature designed to prevent from input signal overload damaging the amp or the speakers.

None directly into this , you would require a Mixer to connect a Mic. Such as , Numark M101 Black 2-Channel All-Purpose Mixer Code: N01EK

ProSound 2 Channel 1600W Power Amplifier and Numark M101 2 channel mixer, how many mics I can connect to the system in all? I also want one Auxilary input so that I can connect Mobile/Tablet/Ipade via 3.5 Jack?

Asked by: Ajay
This mixer will only accept one Microphone and will have an Aux in for a jack via a quarter inch jack adapter not 3.5 unfortunately. You could try , ProSound VHF Twin Handheld Wireless Microphone Kit Code: A71UR OR 3 Channel Mini Microphone Mixer Code: L71AK

A jack to phono lead is needed such as A78NU and a RW00A adapter to turn the 3.5 jack into a 1/4 jack plug.
