Rated 1 out of 5 by from I read reviews on this site before purchasing this amp and the recommended speakers from Maplins. I wish I had gone further afield for advice. The output is extremely disappointing, and not what I was advised in store. At not far over halfway volume on the amplifier the speakers clip the low frequencies. The achievable volume would only realistically be useful at home..... were it not for the speaker buzz. There is a very strong audible buzz from the speakers even with no input. At low volumes it drowns out the output, rendering them far too noisy for home us. Extremely disappointed with my purchase, I would advise at the very least to test them in store, but overall I would say to stay well clear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have had one of these amps for about 6 byears and use it for small venues. with 2 x300w 12" speakers. ok. for background music and pa but it is 50w @ 8 ohm per channel. Never let me down although I would drive to the max sometimes. Quality same as my Behringer mixer amp. as a general rule get good speakers to get good sound. would I replace it? Yes but would probably go up in size as you can turn an amp down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from brilliant little amp! I have been using this for about 2 years now with two 8inch 100w ProSound speakers and wow what a great sound when used with the right speakers! Never had any problems with it either. Great value for money! was told by friends not to buy a prosound amp as they are rubbish and unreliable. But how wrong they were its amazing better than my behringer amp any day. great sounds and copes well with bass. defo recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this amp on News Years along with some speakers. It was a really good buy and the staff in store were so helpful! I bring it to my DJ gigs along with my other PA system. Would definitely recommend to people looking for a new PA system. Excellent product and thanks to the staff at Maplin Dublin!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As the title says, this is a great little amp.I bought one of these amps privately ( s/hand ) intending to leave it set up at home. However,i have used this power amp in a couple of clubs out of curiousity.I used one channel connected to a 15 in P.A cab via a mixer, and the other channel connected to a 8 ohm pair of 12 inch speakers that are in my open back Marshall combo, connected from my mixer for Guitar. It is true that the volume controls on the power amp were turned well up,as was the mixer. But the overall volume was well attainable.I was pleasantly surprised how this power amp coped with the gigs. .......... Great ! The light weight of this power amp makes for easy handling, also,i didnt really want to get into fan cooled units as this is something else that i didnt want the worry of. Impressive,& a great little workhorse when required.

Will this amplifier accept 2 inputs. One from SCS4DJ console and one from karaoke console?

Asked by: Colin
page 5 of the user guide https://maplindownloads.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/l62bk-new-4292.pdf shows 2 input channels (typically audio left and right) This would allow the connection of 1 stereo device or 2 mono devices (your choice)

What is the recommended minimum airspace around this amp (particularly above and below) for cooling?

Asked by: IanD
The manual for the item says "In use adequate ventilation should be maintained to the front and rear." So I would say make sure the item has a good amount of airflow.

Can you tell me how I can get 200W out of this amplifier when your specification says that you get 50W RMS per channel at 8ohms. Can you drive this amplifier into 4ohms?

Asked by: Brian
As far as I can learn, this amplifier is only rated at 50W R.M.S. power per channel.  The 200W refers to an arbitrary music or peak power that you'd rarely see.  For speaker rating you'd use 50W.  I doubt that it can run into 4ohms - it is not in the spec.
