Product overview

  • Handheld dynamic microphone that is ideal for live performances
  • Cardioid design to pick up audio from a single direction so you record only what you want without background noise being amplified
  • XLR connector to connect easily to equipment such as a mixer
  • 5m XLR cable allows you to move about without hindrance
  • A sensitivity of -74dBv means a good response to quieter sounds from the microphone

What would I use this microphone with?
If you fancy a better quality microphone than a beginner’s microphone, this is the one for you. The handheld microphone has a rugged metal body to prevent damage from knocks and bumps. The cardioid sound pickup prevents feedback and distortion to give you a higher quality sound for all your live performances. The included 5m cable will allow you to move around during your performance without tripping over it while its XLR to 6.35mm cable allows the microphone to be connected into virtually any audio setup including mixers and amplifiers.

What is the advantage of having a dynamic microphone?
Dynamic microphones are widely used because they’re hardwearing, relatively inexpensive and don’t need a power supply. Dynamic microphones are effective when used with loud sound sources that don’t contain a lot detail at a very high frequency meaning that they are perfect for use with a range of instruments such as drums and guitars.

What position does the dynamic microphone pick sound up?
This microphone has a cardioid polar pattern which means it is more sensitive to sound to the front of the unit and least sensitive at the back. The pickup is based in one direction which makes it effective for isolating unwanted sound as well as having a high resistance to feedback from speakers. This makes it a perfect microphone for using in a live performance environment such as a stage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, I was tempted by a more expensive model, however I would've had to have bought a lot of accessories too. I needed a microphone to record harmonica, and I went for this one as it has extended frequency response which I expect is a good thing (hopefully), and has a nice feel to it and comes with a case, lead and clip, so is good value. I'm also pleased to say it makes the harmonica sound gorgeous, and doesn't fade out when I play higher, which I suppose is what the extended frequency response is. It gives a nice little bit of distortion for the harmonica (which is very loud, and distortion is good in this case), but not so you can't hear it, and has great vocal recording without distortion which is what you want. It's great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality, nice heavy mic easily comparable to sm58, full-range for human ears! With good-quality lead and case, and I took advantage of the offer of mic stand as well, again good quality. well worth the paltry sum paid!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have bought these mics several times in the past and as value vs quality goes you wont get much better! The sound is crystal and as good as some professional mics that would cost you 10 fold! Used them with karaoke for years and recommend to novice as well as professionals!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just for stage use I have used this microphone for several years now in my home studio, both for vocals and instruments as diverse as banjo, saxophone and harmonica. In every case the result has been a warm, detailed sound that I would associate with a far more expensive microphone. The inclusion of a padded hard case makes it easy to store and protect.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great mic and really good sturdy quality mic but im thinking its the leads that came with them. I have used these mics ( I bought a pair) and they broke at he same time?!? Im hoping its the leads as im taking them back tomorrow and im assuming they will be replaced, but i'll keep you posted.

Would it be possible to monitor and record noise from neighbours

Asked by: Kenny
It is but not with this kind of mic , you would need an ambient mic to pic up this noise , such as the Blue Yeti Microphone - The Ultimate Professional USB Microphone code : A35KN Just be aware of the laws and regulations regarding this this type of recording.
