The Wireless Inventors Kit for the Raspberry Pi (RasWIK) is an exciting and affordable addition to the Raspberry Pi. RasWIK demonstrates that with our leading edge technology anyone (and we mean anyone) can build wireless sensors and actuators , you do not need huge experience, a degree or even any tools. We show you even how to connect the devices you build to "the Internet of Things" (IoT) service providers such as Xively.

You can build wireless devices in just a matter of minutes. All the code is fully Open Source, you can use, modify and even sell your own products based on this kit.

There are 29 fully documented projects. The 17 hardware projects take you from very basic sensors, actuators and light controls to more complicated ones that include measuring temperature and light levels. The 12 fully completed software projects show you how to do more sophisticated stuff, including posting your measurements on the Internet.

Out of the box all the hardware is configured to start you off without you writing a single line of code. The kit comes complete with an SD card image that has starter software and a fully configured Pi operating system already installed. The devices you make are even interoperable with our off the shelf wireless devices.

All software you need is located on the SD card, but if you want to download python application or a previous version please click here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Kit - Terrible memory card I have been playing with this kit for a few weeks now. The device its self is simply brilliant, I would say it has the potential to be very useful device for many applications. The documentation is basic but well written and I have enjoyed following the examples included. The only negative thing I can say about the package is the memory card included is a class 4 and its performance is utterly awful. Move to a faster card as soon as you can.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots of kit, but not compatible with pi2 B I bought this together with my new Raspberry Pi 2 B, (which was supposed to be a Pi3 but which had vanished after payment once I arrived to pick it up in-store) got it home and found that they are not compatible. There is a different GPIO pin count , 40 vs 27, for starters, and the MICRO sd card does not load. I have since discovered that older software is not necessarily future compatible. It wouldn't have worked with a Pi3 anyway therefore, So whilst I am itching to use this kit I am at a loss as to where to go next. (Probably by another, older, pi.....) (incidentally I would have expected some sort of information on the maplin website about this but there isn't any.... so for me this has been a waste of money, and my experience with maplin has not been great.) Not only do I have the pi I didn't ask for by a kit that doesn't work with it. So buy this kit only if you have the older pi in other words, with a shorter GPIO.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from company gone bust the company that makes this seems to have gone bust ! The kit requires instructions, but the website with the instructions no longer exists rendering this product totally useless ! en-route back to the store to return it !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely Worthless Purchased this yesterday from Maplin Mansfield. Got it home to find that the package had clearly already been opened and parts were missing. Adding to this the fact that the manufacturer has been out of business for well over a year, and the download locations no longer exist (yes I know there are remnants on github, but thats all they are...) didnt make for the best of experiences... To then come on here and discover that Maplins have known all the above for over a year, but are still selling this tat... No suprise they are at risk of going down the pan...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not compatible for Raspberry Pi B+ This is not compatible for all raspberry pi models and you dont find this out until you get home open the box and try to install it. Inside the box is a little piece of paper telling you to go to a website to download what is needed for it to work with Pi B / B + but that is a far is it gets due to the website Ciseco not existing anymore. If i had know this then i would not have bought it and now i am faced with the problem of having to buy another Pi just to use this.. or facing a 60 mile round trip to return it to the store... Poor show Matlan not good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missing Memory Card and Instructions Bought this yesterday, just got it out of the box and the memory card is missing. The company that make it no longer exist so I cannot even get the instructions up. Safe to say I am returning it. Cannot believe you can sell this product without instructions.
