Product overview

• Convert a RCA or S-Video input into HDMI
• Allows video to be displayed on a HDMI enabled TV with no S-Video or RCA input
• Also converts stereo audio into the HDMI output
• Up to 720p resolution support

This simple to use converter box allows any device with a S-Video or RCA output to connect to any HDMI enabled display device, such as a flat screen TV or projector. Ideal for TVs or projectors with no S-Video or RCA input, or where those inputs are being used by other devices. It also converts stereo sound from the device in the HDMI signal.

Does this unit upscale the S-VIDEO SD 576i input to HD 720p,1080p or 1080i HDMI output, or does it preserve the input at 576. If its preserved will it output as 576i or 576p?

Asked by: ZeSurfer

Hi we have just bought a new tv and would like to keep our existing sound system, do you have anything to convert the old cables to the new format?

Asked by: Puggy
Difficult to answer with no information about what the "old" and "new" cables are. Perhaps you could email some pictures of the OUTPUTS on the new TV and the INPUTS on the sound system to technical@maplin.co.uk and we can better advise.

Thanks for the suggestion but surely I need additional cabling to connect this box to the 21 pin Decoder SCART outlet on my TV? If so please let me know what.

Asked by: Rosie
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

I have a B&O Avant with two SCART sockets. One is connected to a Sky set top box. Do you sell a product  which will connect to my unused SCART socket so that I can connect an HDMI device like Firestick to stream other channels.

Asked by: Rosie
Unfortunately, we do not have anything suitable.

Will this enable me to connect a Video-S output on a Virgin Tivo 6 box to a Panasonic Video recorder with only an HDMI connector and therefore record direct from the Tivo Video-S plug to the Video recorder HDMI with no other audio connection.

Asked by: David the C
If the reocrder accepts HDMI as an INPUT and not an output then this would be fine, however S-Video does not carry sound so you would need seperate connections from the TiVo box for audio.

Unfortunately this would not be possible, HDMI ports on PC's are for outputs, not inputs.
