Any appliance with a plug socket can be powered remotely up to a distance of 30 metres. It uses Radio Frequency so the remote does not need to be pointed at the socket and can work through walls. Each RF socket has 4 channels than can be set from the switch at the back. For example, if you had 4 lamps plugged into the RF sockets on different channels/codes you could turn them on and off individually or if set on the same channel/code you could turn them all on and off at the same time.To operate, set the dial on the reverse of the product to the channel required and fit the small battery to the transmitter. Plug the socket in to the required wall outlet and it's ready to use.

An additional three sockets per channel can be added and operated by the one remote control (Order code: N77KA for spare socket - please note that this is not supplied with a remote control).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked very well for me, I bought it to control the lights in the shed at the bottom of the garden about 25m away, and hey it does exactly that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have two controllers & four sockets. The range is appalling I sometimes have to get within two feet to work. I've tried all four frequencies without any improvement. My other ones work faultlessly in the same position but I needed two controllers which Maplin provided..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing, very useful if you have your electronics devices in places difficult to reach and you want to turn them off completely at night. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compatability with SMJ receiver sockets. I have a number of SMJ sockets working off two (three button) transmitters. One of the SMJ transmitters failed and, although this product operates on the same Frequency, I was unsure as to whether the Codes & Channels were identical. I have now established that this item does appear to be suitable as a direct replacement and, with the additional socket supplied, now enables a fourth socket to be controlled from the same remote via the additional button.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks okay, better built than some I've tried,at least this doesn't look too cheap!. Though I bought this a while ago ,I've only just stared using it, so am happy to review it in a few months and give it a chance to work properly. My other one has finally given up! I hope this doesn't perform like my old one, I.e. start performing in a temperamental manner, sometimes it works sometimes it won't! I often had to unplug my other one and disconnect it then plug it all in to effectively reboot the remote function on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Starts well but problems begin later I purchased this to top up the existing purchase of 3 with a remote. 2 remotes work well as 1 is in the bedroom and 1 in the living room. Problems began a while ago and they either switch off themselves or often don't switch off.. Will switch to a multi-socket extension lead with individual switches.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One remote wurks for 4 devices if you move the fiddly (miniscule) 'code adjustment switch' first. Changing the 'code adjustment switch' from 1 to 2 is fiddly and can be infuriating. So I just use channels 1 and 4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from recent purchase I bought these from crayford store ,had no problems with them ,there easy to set up ,good range and ideal for xmas tree sockets ,now we dont have to hoover up those needles when reaching to switch the lights on ,dont know why people say there is range problem ,these work from upstairs and through walls.

Hi, I'm after a single remote control socket with a single switch I can mount on the wall. Will this do it? I only want the one switch unit and no remote control option as it's for a waste disposal.

Asked by: Nigel
No, I am sorry but the item will not be suitable.
